Book excerpt: Join the Creatures in side the smoke filled rooms and through the colors of insanity to find some Meth Smoke Monsters. A collection of intriguing looking characters that should make you think twice before using Meth. I had the genius idea to take pictures of the smoke because of the lighting in the room at the time of smoking. When i had that film developed i saw alot of ugly faces in the smoke. Not all pictures had faces in them. But most of them did and it was "on" from that point to take pictures whenever i smoked. That was a long time ago. I have lots of pictures to choose from. Literally thousands of shots. I started to change the light bulbs i was using to get the smoke to change colors. Then the backgrounds changed also. I came up with some real interesting shots. I have put a lot of good ones together and here you have the results of my efforts. Along with the pictures i put together some short stories and or poems to read. Some of them are motivational and maybe the right story for someone out there struggling with addiction. I hope this book does somebody some good. Maybe, maybe not. Either way some stories you will find completely unrelated to the picture its next to. These are more like embellished riddles that will entertain the mind. But i will tell you they all have a special theme or subject that motivates me. Maybe some people out there can identify and relate to what it is i am trying to get across to you. Other writings i am straight out to confuse the reader and question their own mind to see if i am crazy or not. You decide. In conclusion and keen eyesight for the future enjoy the book and lets see if we need to watch out in the blackout.

Book Monsters in Love

Download or read book Monsters in Love written by Resmaa Menakem and published by Central Recovery Press. This book was released on 2023-01-31 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A gritty, down-to-earth guide for real-life couples Conflict is a natural part of any intimate relationship. Yet most couples either avoid it or try to smooth over their differences. This often results in at least one partner compromising their integrity—and stunting their own growth. Monsters in Love challenges the idea that conflict between partners is unhealthy or something to avoid. Instead, it encourages both people to stand by what they need and who they are—but to do so with compassion rather than competitiveness or vengefulness. This book is about the reality of committed, intimate relationships, which are designed to inspire both people to grow up. It challenges some common misperceptions about what makes for a successful partnership. It also rocks the boat of psychotherapy, calling out therapists who don't bring their best to their clients. Instead of comforting fantasies or false promises, Monsters in Love offers you and your partner a chance to make your relationship—and your lives—much bigger and more emergent.

Book The Monsters Know What They re Doing

Download or read book The Monsters Know What They re Doing written by Keith Ammann and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2019-10-29 with total page 560 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the creator of the popular blog The Monsters Know What They’re Doing comes a compilation of villainous battle plans for Dungeon Masters. In the course of a Dungeons & Dragons game, a Dungeon Master has to make one decision after another in response to player behavior—and the better the players, the more unpredictable their behavior! It’s easy for even an experienced DM to get bogged down in on-the-spot decision-making or to let combat devolve into a boring slugfest, with enemies running directly at the player characters and biting, bashing, and slashing away. In The Monsters Know What They’re Doing, Keith Ammann lightens the DM’s burden by helping you understand your monsters’ abilities and develop battle plans before your fifth edition D&D game session begins. Just as soldiers don’t whip out their field manuals for the first time when they’re already under fire, a DM shouldn’t wait until the PCs have just encountered a dozen bullywugs to figure out how they advance, fight, and retreat. Easy to read and apply, The Monsters Know What They're Doing is essential reading for every DM.

Book Counselor s Family Education Manual

Download or read book Counselor s Family Education Manual written by U. S. Department of Health a. . . Services and published by . This book was released on 2013-06-26 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Matrix IOP method was developed initially in the 1980s in response to the growing numbers of individuals entering the treatment system with cocaine or methamphetamine dependence as their primary substance use disorder. Many traditional treatment models then in use were developed primarily to treat alcohol dependence and were proving to be relatively ineffective in treating cocaine and other stimulant dependence (Obert et al. 2000). To create effective treatment protocols for clients dependent on stimulant drugs, treatment professionals at the Matrix Institute drew from numerous treatment approaches, incorporating into their model methods that were empirically tested and practical. Their treatment model incorporated elements of relapse prevention, cognitive-behavioral, psychoeducation, and family approaches, as well as 12-Step program support (Obert et al. 2000).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Methamphetamine (ice, speed, crystal, shard) has been called epidemic in the United States. Yet few communities were ready for increased use of methamphetamine by suburban women. Women on Ice is the first book to study exclusively the lives of women who use the drug and its effects on their families. In-depth interviews with women in the suburban counties of one of the largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. chronicle the details of their initiation into methamphetamine, the turning points into problematic drug use, and for a few, their escape from lives veering out of control. Their life course and drug careers are analyzed in relation to the intersecting influences of social roles, relationships, social/political structures, and political trends. Examining the effects of punitive drug policy, inadequate social services, and looming public health risks, including HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C, the book gives voice to women silenced by shame. Boeri introduces new and developing concepts in the field of addiction studies and proposes policy changes to more broadly implement initiatives that address the problems these women face. She asserts that if we are concerned that the war on drugs is a war on drug users, this book will alert us that it is also a war on suburban families.

Download or read book Blitzed written by Norman Ohler and published by HarperCollins. This book was released on 2017-03-07 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A New York Times bestseller, Norman Ohler's Blitzed is a "fascinating, engrossing, often dark history of drug use in the Third Reich” (Washington Post). The Nazi regime preached an ideology of physical, mental, and moral purity. Yet as Norman Ohler reveals in this gripping history, the Third Reich was saturated with drugs: cocaine, opiates, and, most of all, methamphetamines, which were consumed by everyone from factory workers to housewives to German soldiers. In fact, troops were encouraged, and in some cases ordered, to take rations of a form of crystal meth—the elevated energy and feelings of invincibility associated with the high even help to account for the breakneck invasion that sealed the fall of France in 1940, as well as other German military victories. Hitler himself became increasingly dependent on injections of a cocktail of drugs—ultimately including Eukodal, a cousin of heroin—administered by his personal doctor. Thoroughly researched and rivetingly readable, Blitzed throws light on a history that, until now, has remained in the shadows. “Delightfully nuts.”—The New Yorker
