Book Metaphysik und Religion

Download or read book Metaphysik und Religion written by Tobias Dangel and published by . This book was released on 2023 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Vern nftig glauben

Download or read book Vern nftig glauben written by Donatella Colantuono and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2016 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Das Super Transzendentale und die Spaltung der Metaphysik written by Sabine Folger-Fonfara and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2007-12-31 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The history of modern metaphysics is essentially marked by its splitting up into a metaphysica generalis and a metaphysica specialis, a well-known distinction especially within Christian Wolff’s systematic conception of metaphysics. This study investigates the actual origins of this significant development, which can be already found at the beginning of the 14th century. On the basis of a fundamentally revised doctrine of transcendentals the Franciscan theologian Francis of Marchia (~1290-1344) introduces for the first time a dissociation of the primum cognitum of the human intellect from the subject of metaphysics, according to which metaphysics is no longer one science in the sense of a scientia transcendens, as most of his predecessors claimed in the 13th century, but rather twofold: ontology and theology.

Book Religion After Metaphysics

Download or read book Religion After Metaphysics written by Mark A. Wrathall and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2003-11-27 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How should we understand religion, and what place should it hold, in an age in which metaphysics has come into disrepute? The metaphysical assumptions which supported traditional theologies are no longer widely accepted, but it is not clear how this 'end of metaphysics' should be understood, nor what implications it ought to have for our understanding of religion. At the same time there is renewed interest in the sacred and the divine in disciplines as varied as philosophy, psychology, literature, history, anthropology, and cultural studies. In this volume, leading philosophers in the United States and Europe address the decline of metaphysics and the space which this decline has opened for non-theological understandings of religion. The contributors include Richard Rorty, Charles Taylor, Jean-Luc Marion, Gianni Vattimo, Hubert Dreyfus, Robert Pippin, John Caputo, Adriaan Peperzak, Leora Batnitzky, and Mark Wrathall.

Book Religion within the Limits of Mere Reason

Download or read book Religion within the Limits of Mere Reason written by Immanuel Kant and published by Newcomb Livraria Press. This book was released on 2023-10-02 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A new translation of Immanuel Kant’s 1793 "Religion within the Limits of Mere Reason" in modern American English with the original German in the back for reference. This is Volume X in the Complete Works of Immanuel Kant from Newcomb Livraria Press. Kant's "Die Religion innerhalb der Grenzen der bloßen Vernunft" is one of his most accessible works due to it's simplicity and basic lexicon. Here he writes about "the relationship of religion to human nature". Kant strove to fix both the Natural science and Theology by keeping them both in their respective dialectal parameters. Living through the heart of the Enlightenment, Kant observed the Epistemological problems brought about by One-World Newtonian Mechanical Reductionism, and the bad counter-reactions that Protestant apologists made. Like Hegel, Kant wants to restore faith as the "guardian of the speculative mysteries". This edition contains the prefaces to both versions of this work.

Book Zwischen Philosophie und Gesetz

Download or read book Zwischen Philosophie und Gesetz written by Thomas Meyer and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2009-03-31 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite the revival of intellectual history in recent years, there is still relatively little research into German-Jewish intellectual history between 1933 and 1938. The present work studies for the first time the important discussions of the period from the debate between Leo Strauss and Julius Guttmann, Alexander Altmann’s contribution to “Jewish theology,” to the reception of the work of Franz Rosenzweig and Martin Heidegger as well as the works of David Baumgardt and Fritz Heinemann. Many now forgotten texts of those discussions have been made accessible here. All the leading figures presented in this study were sooner or later forced to choose between “philosophy” and “law.”
