This book was released on 2024-10-14 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This document specifies the general design requirements, basic dimensions, performance requirements, qualification tests for 24° cone connectors, which are suitable for ferrule and O-ring seals. This type of connector is suitable for metal pipes, which have an outer diameter of 4 mm ~ 42 mm. The connectors specified in this document are suitable for transition connection between metal pipes or hose fittings and oil ports that comply with GB/T 2878.1, ISO 1179-1, ISO 9974-1 (see GB/T 9065.2 for relevant hose fitting specifications). Note 1: For new application designs, 9.6 gives relevant requirements. Where elastic seals are allowed, connector designs that comply with national standards and include elastic seals are preferred. Note 2: For use outside the specified pressure and temperature range, see 5.4. Note 3: This type of connector operates at the working pressure given in Table 1, to achieve full flow connection. Since many factors affect the pressure of normal operation of the system, these values cannot be used as minimum guaranteed values. For each application, both the supplier and the buyer need to conduct sufficient tests and check the results, to ensure that the connector meets the required performance level.

Download or read book Power Piping written by Charles Becht (IV.) and published by American Society of Mechanical Engineers. This book was released on 2013 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This essential new volume provides background information, historical perspective, and expert commentary on the ASME B31.1 Code requirements for power piping design and construction. It provides the most complete coverage of the Code that is available today and is packed with additional information useful to those responsible for the design and mechanical integrity of power piping. The author, Dr. Becht, is a long-serving member of ASME piping code committees and is the author of the highly successful book, Process Piping: The Complete Guide to ASME B31.3, also published by ASME Press and now in its third edition. Dr. Becht explains the principal intentions of the Code, covering the content of each of the Code's chapters. Book inserts cover special topics such as spring design, design for vibration, welding processes and bonding processes. Appendices in the book include useful information for pressure design and flexibility analysis as well as guidelines for computer flexibility analysis and design of piping systems with expansion joints. From the new designer wanting to know how to size a pipe wall thickness or design a spring to the expert piping engineer wanting to understand some nuance or intent of the Code, everyone whose career involves process piping will find this to be a valuable reference.

Download or read book Piping and Pipeline Calculations Manual written by Philip Ellenberger and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-01-22 with total page 413 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Piping and Pipeline Calculations Manual, Second Edition provides engineers and designers with a quick reference guide to calculations, codes, and standards applicable to piping systems. The book considers in one handy reference the multitude of pipes, flanges, supports, gaskets, bolts, valves, strainers, flexibles, and expansion joints that make up these often complex systems. It uses hundreds of calculations and examples based on the author's 40 years of experiences as both an engineer and instructor. Each example demonstrates how the code and standard has been correctly and incorrectly applied. Aside from advising on the intent of codes and standards, the book provides advice on compliance. Readers will come away with a clear understanding of how piping systems fail and what the code requires the designer, manufacturer, fabricator, supplier, erector, examiner, inspector, and owner to do to prevent such failures. The book enhances participants' understanding and application of the spirit of the code or standard and form a plan for compliance. The book covers American Water Works Association standards where they are applicable. - Updates to major codes and standards such as ASME B31.1 and B31.12 - New methods for calculating stress intensification factor (SIF) and seismic activities - Risk-based analysis based on API 579, and B31-G - Covers the Pipeline Safety Act and the creation of PhMSA

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Through ten editions, Fox and McDonald's Introduction to Fluid Mechanics has helped students understand the physical concepts, basic principles, and analysis methods of fluid mechanics. This market-leading textbook provides a balanced, systematic approach to mastering critical concepts with the proven Fox-McDonald solution methodology. In-depth yet accessible chapters present governing equations, clearly state assumptions, and relate mathematical results to corresponding physical behavior. Emphasis is placed on the use of control volumes to support a practical, theoretically-inclusive problem-solving approach to the subject. Each comprehensive chapter includes numerous, easy-to-follow examples that illustrate good solution technique and explain challenging points. A broad range of carefully selected topics describe how to apply the governing equations to various problems, and explain physical concepts to enable students to model real-world fluid flow situations. Topics include flow measurement, dimensional analysis and similitude, flow in pipes, ducts, and open channels, fluid machinery, and more. To enhance student learning, the book incorporates numerous pedagogical features including chapter summaries and learning objectives, end-of-chapter problems, useful equations, and design and open-ended problems that encourage students to apply fluid mechanics principles to the design of devices and systems.
