Book excerpt: La validation et l'amélioration des codes de calcul, utilises par les constructeurs d'automobiles pour la prédiction de l'écoulement au sein des cylindres d'un moteur, nécessitent une description fine du champ turbulent a travers les échelles de longueur et particulièrement les échelles intégrales et de Taylor. Une méthode de mesure directe de la corrélation double de vitesse, fondée sur la vélocimétrie doppler laser, est développée dans ce travail. Son principe consiste à mesurer simultanément une composante de vitesse en deux points séparés par une distance variable. La méthode a été tout d'abord validée sur deux écoulements simples: la turbulence de grille et le jet circulaire. La comparaison avec l'anémométrie à fil chaud montrent que les échelles intégrales sont déterminées sans difficultés particulières, par contre, l'échelle de Taylor requiert plus de soin. Une procédure de traitement des données est élaborée et validée a posteriori. L’influence des sources d'erreurs est analysée expérimentalement et théoriquement. La méthode a été ensuite appliquée à l'écoulement stationnaire en aval d'une culasse axisymétrique qui stimule la phase d'admission d'un moteur. Les profils des échelles intégrales et de Taylor ont été déterminés dans trois sections. Le taux de dissipation visqueuse a été estime. Les différents profils montrent une inhomogénéité dans la partie immédiatement en aval de la culasse, puis les profils ont tendance à s'homogénéiser dans la partie centrale du cylindre. L’influence de la rotation sur les échelles intégrales a été examinée et révèle que l'échelle relative à une vitesse tangentielle et un déplacement axial est fortement affectée par la rotation
