Book Mental Radio illustrated

Download or read book Mental Radio illustrated written by Upton Sinclair and published by David De Angelis. This book was released on 2019-02-25 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This fully illustrated book by the author of Metropolis, is the result of investigations into his wifes apparent telepathic abilities. With over 150 hand drawings of things that Upton Sinclair drew in private, and then his wife tried to replicate via telepathy, this makes for a highly interesting and at times, amusing, book. Sinclair's top reputation as a 'speaker of truth to power' was actually a compelling reason to take this book seriously. The response to Mental Radio was very positive, impressing academics in the field of psychology and other scientists, including Albert Einstein, who wrote the introduction to the German edition. William McDougal, Chair of the Psychology Department at Duke University, who wrote the introduction for this edition, conducted his own experiments with Craig. McDougal and J.B. Rhine later went on to found the Parapsychology Laboratory at Duke, which conducted the first academic investigations of ESP. Walter Franklin Price, founder of the Boston Society for Psychical Research, asked the Sinclairs if he could analyze their research notes. In April 1932, Price published an analysis of the Sinclair experiments in the Society's Bulletin in which he concluded that the data could not be explained by coincidence or fraud.

Book excerpt: Telepathy includes the communication of emotions, ideas, mental images, sensations or words from one individual to another without the help of the senses... In the early part of the twentieth century, a chemical engineer named Rene Warcollier devised and conducted a series of experiments in telepathic communication. The participants sought to transmit drawings, at varying distances and using only the power of the mind, to subjects who would record their impressions on paper. In Mind to Mind, Warcollier describes these experiments in precise detail, including many of the transmitted drawings and recorded impressions. His research revealed surprising parallels between the principles of extrasensory communication and those of modern psychology.

Book Distant Mental Influence

Download or read book Distant Mental Influence written by William Braud and published by Hampton Roads Publishing. This book was released on 2003-12-01 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Professionals in modern psychology, behavioral medicine, and psychoneuroimmunology are exploring ways in which we can "mentally" influence our own bodies through hypnosis, imagery, visualization, attention, intention, and other forms of self-regulation--for fostering physical and psychological health and well-being. Is it possible for us to use such techniques to influence others, even at a distance, for purposes of healing? Is it possible for us to influence the images, thoughts, behaviors, and physiological reactions of other persons--separated by distance--without conventional sensory means of interaction? Can these abilities extend to animals and even to cells (e.g., human red blood cells)? Might these abilities be involved in the efficacy of distant, mental, or spiritual healing and intercessory prayer? Might these influences even extend to events distant in time--even "backwards in time?" Do these influences have major implications for our scientific theories, our human identity, the interconnections between ourselves and nature, and our relationships with others? Careful laboratory work--described in detail in this book--suggests that the answer to all these questions is a resounding "Yes!" A personal introduction and 12 detailed chapters describe the evidence that supporst these important claims. The book also describes the factors that make such distant mental influences more or less likely, so that anyone might use these distant influence skills more effectively and consistently for their own benefit and for the benefit of others.
