Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book delves into the truth of two kinds: one is externally grasped through our senses and the other is from within, which is intuitionally manifested, so much so that if one is separated from one’s five senses the person can still feel self-awareness. All visible acts—for instance, consuming food—is an apparent activity where the entire mechanism of eating is fueled by an unseen motion without which no visible or practical pursuit can ever occur, signifying that the operation of our five senses must also be fueled by this obscure motion-oriented, energy-based fact. Emanuel Kant affirmed the Empiricist preoccupation with sense experience and the material world, but reconciled this with the rationalist tradition by noting that experience itself is made possible only through deeper underlying (a-priori) mental structure (deeper than concepts or ideas) such as space, time, and mathematical forms like numbers and shapes that exist regardless of what exists in the material world. Strive for the best, aspire to both inner and outer verity (condor, reality), because we have entered into a new era which, ironically, many scientific findings are alluding to what for thousands of years the sages and the prophetically minded philosophers have claimed: that mankind is the very reason for the existence; that you are not in the universe but the universe is within you. Professing it is because of God that you exist and it is because of you that the universe prevails since the quantum world of the infinitely dancing particle where the substratum, the sub-atomic realm of the unseen world and the “observer effect” arrive at making it all possible as it gives meaning into how you look at the universe, knowing that the sole act of observing will influence the phenomenon being observed; that nothing can exist if no mind is there to perceive it. “There’s no way to remove the observer - us - from our perceptions of the world.” Stephen Hawking.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fourth volume in this series consists of eleven chapters. The first five deal with more theoretical aspects of the kinetics and mechanisms of meta morphic reactions, and the next six consider the interdependence of defor mation and metamorphism. All papers deal with natural processes that inter act on various time scales and with different degrees of mass and heat transfer. Consequently, many fundamental axioms of metamorphic petrol ogy and structural geology are questioned both for their accuracy and their usefulness. In raising such questions, most contributors have pointed to ways in which the answers could be forthcoming from appropriate experi mental studies or observations on natural materials. In their discussion of how order/disorder can influence mineral assem blages, Carpenter and Putnis emphasize that metastable crystal growth is common in metamorphic systems and state' 'there may be some reluctance (among many earth scientists) to accept that significant departures from equilibrium could occur." On the basis of presented evidence, they question whether reactions ever occur close to an equilibrium boundary. The neces sity for pressure or temperature overstepping is also required by nucleation rate theory. In any case, the degree of order is severely influenced by these kinetic effects in igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic environments.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “The angel is free because of his knowledge, the beast because of ignorance. Between the two remains the son of man to struggle.” —Rumi A no-nonsense approach in fathoming God, man, and the universe, a genesis relates to the existence, just a drop in an ocean in true wisdom for grasping the awesome power of the Creator. It is a jaw-dropping experience that ought to attract one to permeate the gist of the philosophical why and the scientific realization of how and what is sought beyond ordinary. Probing into consciousness, to prominent existence, mind, soul, and matter, faith, virtue, morality, spirituality, inspiring self-belief and igniting human excellence; rebuffing ideologically dogmatic notions where lack of inference is challenged and no wit-oriented remarks are questioned. To incite the sagacity of thoughts in search of truth, cultivating a deity where mendacity and hubris fail. A colossal shift from the traditionally ambiguous views as superfluous (nonessential) references is often the norm as minds of reason insightfully question all bogus claims; live the essence, awaken the God within you, let the demons lay eternally at rest, and question yourself. Should it not be the human’s will to conquer the ill notions? If not so, call man a beast that should solely live by instinct. “My humanity is a constant self-overcoming.” Frederick Nietzsche

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For centuries the debates over if there is a God or not? Have tempted curious minds to meditate on the whys and hows of our mysterious universe. Splitting into two major faculties or aptitudes are the atheists, the skeptics, and the theists, the believers. The irony, the paradox, is the very scientific notions that were once rendered leveraged to the nonbelievers. It has turned into an autoimmune disease attacking the body, the white cells, striking the tissues that used to support it. Because no systematic laws applicable to the physical world are compatible with the unseen world. The quantum domain. I call the metaphysically oriented submicroscopic realm the sphere of God since the bizarre behaviors are puzzling the beautiful minds of our time. The scholarly-minded scientists and prominent physicists unanimously confess that no Newtonian laws or any traditional physic have the answer to this majestic, exalted environment. Reign of essence/ the encyclopedia of critical thinking is the closest that the reader can come in quenching one’s thirst in search of the truth; since no better source can philosophically, scientifically, ethically, morally, spiritually, and historically attribute to facts referencing the visible and the ethereal (ghostly) atmosphere so evidential to a magnificent programmer. Leaving no doubt, we live in a computer-simulated matrix since the extremely orderly and regulated universe. Operates like unique computer bits, tuning our world and beyond. Acknowledging, gravitating to essential premises, and apart from fiction and determinant notions that are not thoroughly, methodologically investigated. Contiguous, bordering, the nearest that one can come to God as the transparent image of the almighty; perhaps looking at the human brain hinting at alien-like characters should remind us of conforming simulated clone dominion. With a thorough look into the invisible domain, the quantum world. I called it the metaphysical realm. The culprits and the ignorance should realize it is not what it is. Becoming concerned makes much sense. It is not what it looks like. There is a higher source; call it what you wish; I call the preeminent God.

Book Epiphanies in the Modernist Short Story

Download or read book Epiphanies in the Modernist Short Story written by Valeria Taddei and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-04-10 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The poetics of epiphany have long been recognised as a broad aesthetic trend of modernism, related to the power of art to reveal the hidden essence of reality. Yet the critical use of the concept is still contested, complicated by the fact that in many modernist works exceptional moments are anything but revealing. This book embraces the blurred nature of epiphanies and sets out to explore their effects in a comparative journey paralleling Anglophone and Italian modernist short fiction. The work of four modernist short story writers – Luigi Pirandello, James Joyce, Federigo Tozzi, and Katherine Mansfield – illuminates epiphanies as complex phenomena, connected to multiple aspects of modernist culture, which appear in artistic experiences developed independently in the same decades. The ideas of Henri Bergson, William James, Martin Heidegger, and Maurice Merleau-Ponty, among others, nuance our understanding of the stories and of the author's vision behind them. At least three threads emerge, as a result, as common characteristics of modernist epiphanies. First, they are a result of the ‘inward turn’ and of the curiosity about the psyche’s subconscious processes. Second, they attempt to rediscover lived experience as a source of partial but reliable knowledge. Third, they re-actualise mystical experiences as conduits to a secular insight about life. The main appeal of these modernist moments of enlightenment is precisely that they establish an atmosphere of ambiguity where multiple and sometimes irreconcilable potential meanings can be found. By so doing, they succeed in evoking the undifferentiated creative potential that, according to the widespread vitalist philosophies of the age, constitutes the essence of life. In reframing ambiguity and indeterminacy as spaces of creation and choice, epiphanies thus bring out a lesser known, life-affirming but not naïve vein of modernist inspiration.

Book The Rise and Fall of the Oil Nation Venezuela

Download or read book The Rise and Fall of the Oil Nation Venezuela written by Carlos A. Rossi and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-12-28 with total page 574 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explains why Venezuela is so rich in natural resources—it has been producing oil since 1922 and harbors the largest oil reserves in the world—and yet it is also a failed nation of class-divided citizens exhibiting deep poverty in a corrupt, incompetent state. Venezuela is a bipolar nation, where two marked poles in the society exist which have historical origins and are mutually exclusive. The book provides a critical analysis of Venezuela's history, economy and politics and explains the context and implications of the bipolar poles, known as the elite pole and the resentful pole. Both, it shows, have done serious harm to Venezuela’s prosperity. The author describes the vicious circle of oil wealth, corruption, inefficiency and world market dependency and gives recommendations for a better future.

Download or read book Metamorphic Textures written by Alan Spry and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 391 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Metamorphic Textures provides definitions, descriptions and illustrations of metamorphic textures, as well as the fundamental processes involved in textural development. This book is composed of 11 chapters and begins with a presentation of the metamorphic processes and the production of metamorphic minerals. The subsequent chapters describe the structural classification of grain boundaries, the metamorphic reactions, mineral transformations, and the crystallization and recrystallization of metamorphic rocks. These topics are followed by the texture examination of thermal metamorphic rocks and minerals and the preferred orientations of these rocks, particularly the dimensional and lattice preferred orientation. Other chapters survey the textures of rocks under dynamic and shock metamorphism. The final chapters describe the textures of regional and polymetamorphism. This book will be of great use to petrologists, physicists, and graduate and undergraduate petrology students.

Book Metamorphic Processes

Download or read book Metamorphic Processes written by R. H. Vernon and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is for senior undergraduate or postgraduate students who want an insight into some modern approaches to metamorphic petrology. Its aims are to explain, in reasonably simple, informal terms, the processes underlying (i) metamorphic reactions and (ii) the production of micro structures in metamorphic rocks, these currently being the things that interest me most, geologically. The first aim requires discussion of equilibrium factors, reaction kinetics and reaction mechanisms, empha sising both the complexity of realistic reactions and the need to combine the chemical and microstructural approaches to them. The second aim requires discussion of deformation, recovery, recrystallisation and grain growth processes, with emphasis on experiments on silicate minerals. The book concludes with a general attempt to relate chemical and physical processes in metamorphism, although it will be clear from reading earlier chapters (especially Chapter 4) that the two aspects can rarely be separated completely in detailed metamorphic studies. Petrological and experimental investigations of metamorphic reactions and microstructural development are advancing so rapidly these days that students are faced with an ever-increasing volume of information and a relatively rapid obsolescence of data. So, in this book I do not try to be comprehensive, or to present much so-called 'factual' information. Instead, I deal more with basic principles, in the hope that these will guide the student in his or her encounters with the details of specific metamorphic problems.
