VICAR OF LOIS-WEEDON, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE, AND FORMERLY FELLOW AND TUTOR OF KING'S COLLEGE, CAMBRIDGE, WHO DIED ON THE 21ST OF JULY, 1828, IN THE 66lH YEAR OF HIS AGE. He walked with God in heavenly simplicity, and exhibited the beauty of holiness in all the relations of life. His humility, being laid deep in repentance, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, shed a mild radiance over his high attainments in learning and virtue, and rendered him lovely in the sight of God and of man. To him "to live was Christ, and to die was gain." I am often induced, living only at the distance of a mile, to direct my steps to this sacred abode of the dead, and there to muse, with a pensive complacency of feeling, over his beloved image, and that rich assemblage of virtues which adorned his life. His bright example speaks from the gloomy chambers of the tomb, with an affecting eloquence which reaches the heart, and inspires a fervent desire that all his surviving relations may live the life, and die the death of the righteous, --and their latter end and future state may be like his! Rest, ye precious relics; rest in your subterranean prison till the last trumpet shall sound aloud through your silent mansion, "Arise, shine, for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee."
