This book was released on 2023-05-23 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an open access book. The global economy is by definition the movement of resources (goods, services and capital) across national borders. The more open relations between countries will affect changes in the regional and global regions, this condition is characterized by the level of domestic economic resilience. Currently, technology with its dynamics requires every country to move to follow, citing at the G20 the role of multilateral trading system to strengthen the achievement SDGs, digital trade sustainable, global value chains (GVCs) and sustainable and inclusive industrialization via industry 4.0. Based on the statement above, it shows that modernization and sustainable 4.0 equivalent industrialization are the demands of multi-sectors including the agricultural sector. For Indonesia, agriculture plays a strategic role in the national economy, with the challenges of sustainable agriculture, the role of agriculture is shown in addition to being a provider of food, industrial raw materials, feed and bioenergy, a source of labor absorption, a source of state foreign exchange as well as environmental preservation with an environmentally friendly farming program approach. Sustainable agriculture practices are ideal, but the dimensions of the scope of sustainable agriculture interests and the substance of their meaning are definitely different. Through the international agricultural seminar or The 3rd International Conference Agriculture (ICA) with the theme Modernization And Industrialization To Support Sustainable Agriculture Facing Global Economy which will be held on September 21, 2022 is one of the efforts in equalizing understanding and collecting sustainable farming innovations that are in line with the sustainable development goals and have become the country's commitment in order to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the face of the global economy.

Book Sociological Studies of Environmental Conflict

Download or read book Sociological Studies of Environmental Conflict written by Sebahattin Ziyanak and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2019-11-15 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The environmental studies about natural resource issues are often studied as conflicts; this book is carefully designed to expound on how resolutions are negotiated and maintained. A number of factors influence how conflicts are framed and how resolutions are determined regarding fracking, shared waters and environmental threats. This book explores the power, community activism, and politics regarding natural resources. Decisions often ignore ecological and social sustainability stewardship needs. By understanding how socio-political dynamics affect policy and negotiation, this book also contributes to the understanding of how natural resource policies are negotiated. It illuminates social inequalities between rural and urban populations.

Book Water Conflicts and Resistance

Download or read book Water Conflicts and Resistance written by Venkatesh Dutta and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2021-07-29 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a systematic study of transboundary, regional and local water conflicts and resistance across several river basins in South Asia. Addressing hydro-socio-economic aspects in competing water sharing and transfer agreements, as well as conflicting regimes of legal plurality, property rights and policy implementation, it discusses themes such as rights over land and natural resources; resettlement of dam-displaced people; urban–rural conflicts over water allocation; peri-urbanisation, land use conflicts and water security; tradeoffs and constraints in restoration of ecological flows in rivers; resilience against water conflicts in a river basin; and irrigation projects and sustainability of water resources. Bringing together experts, professionals, lawyers, government and the civil society, the volume analyses water conflicts at local, regional and transboundary scales; reviews current debates with case studies; and outlines emerging challenges in water policy, law, governance and institutions in South Asia. It also offers alternative tools and frameworks of water sharing mechanisms, conflict resolution, dialogue, and models of cooperation and collaboration for key stakeholders towards possible solutions for effective, equitable and strategic water management. This book will be useful to scholars and researchers of development studies, environment studies, water studies, public policy, political science, international relations, conflict resolution, political economy, economics, sociology and social anthropology, environmental law, governance and South Asian studies. It will also benefit practitioners, water policy thinktanks and associations, policymakers, diplomats and NGOs.
