Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A glance through the Table of Contents will demonstrate the many categories comprising the fields of Speech Communication and Theatre. The thesis and dissertation titles which have been categorized appeared between the years 1973 and 1978. For those titles which could readily have been placed into more than one category, we did our best to pick the category which seemed to represent the main thrust of the work. We have also provided cross references for all such titles. As addi tional aids to the student, we have provided subject and school indexes. Although we have tried to produce an error-free copy, we feel that a few titles may contain minor mistakes because of the copy sent to us by some of the schools and libraries. Also, as in any bibliography, there may be certain omissions in ours, but hope fully these have been kept to a minimum. Finally, in putting together this work, we hope we have pro vided the serious students of Speech Communication and Theatre Arts with a valuable guide to their own research. ACKNOWLEDGMENTS We are above all indebted to Dr. Arthur N. Kruger who not only conceived the idea for this book, but who also played a major role in supervising the work and bringing it to fruition. We also appreciate the introduction he has written for us.

Download or read book Couple Observational Coding Systems written by Patricia K. Kerig and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2004-07-22 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A companion volume to Family Observational Coding Systems, this book moves from the triad to the dyad and provides a showcase for significant developments in the coding of intimate couple interactions. The hope is that this book will contribute to the broadening and deepening of the field by disseminating information both about the coding systems that have been developed, as well as the conceptual and methodological issues involved in couple observational research. The first three chapters present overviews of conceptual and methodological issues in the study of couple processes. The remaining chapters describe contributions to the field by 16 teams of researchers. Each chapter provides information about the conceptual underpinnings and structure of the coding system developed by the authors and evidence for its psychometric properties. Couple Observational Coding Systems will be of interest to researchers studying couple interactions as well as clinicians who work with couples.

Download or read book The Routledge Companion to Consumer Behavior written by Michael R. Solomon and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-09-22 with total page 751 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The key to marketing is understanding and satisfying consumer needs, thus a knowledge of consumer behavior is essential to any organization dealing with customers, users, or clients. This book promises to be a contemporary classic. It brings together an international set of scholars, many of whom are "household names", to examine the diverse approaches to consumer behavior topics. The editors employ a micro to macro structure, dividing each topic into three parts: one reflecting foundational work, one focused on emerging trends, and one covering practical applications. Each part examines the relationship between consumer behaviour and motivation, including well-being, gender, social class, and more, and concludes with practitioner perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that come with understanding customers. Readers will gain insight into how drives that are constantly in flux relate to other aspects of human cognition and behavior, allowing them to reach customers successfully, and to meet their needs. With contributions from leading scholars, including Sidney Levy and Jagdish Sheth, this volume sets the standard as the most comprehensive, cutting-edge resource on the subject of consumer behavior. Students of consumer behaviour and marketing will find this a useful exploration of a fast-moving field, fundamental to the welfare of companies, government, non-profits, and consumers. It will also benefit new and established academic researchers as well as practitioners who want to stay on top of current knowledge.

Download or read book Communal Webs written by Tamar Katriel and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2012-02-01 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings together insights derived from a detailed exploration of Israeli cultural patterns of communication, highlighting their role in the processes of culture formation, maintenance, and change. Katriel's ethnographic examples provide a richly-textured account of Israeli cultural experience, illustrating the potential of a cultural analysis grounded in the study of ideologically-informed communicative practices. The author addresses central issues in contemporary anthropology and human communication studies such as the identification of cultural communication patterns in ethnographic research, conceptualizations of the notions of culture and community, the rhetorical force of cultural communication forms, the role of ritualization in communication and social processes, the critical potential of ethnographic work, and the ethnographer's stance in studying one's own culture.
