In the Standard Model, the amplitude of these asymmetries is proportional to sin2[beta]. We measure sin2[beta] = 0.741 ± 0.067 (stat) ± 0.034 (syst) from a data sample of about 88 million [Lambda](4S) → B{bar B} decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. We have also measured CP-violating asymmetries in open charm, and penguin modes sensitive to sin2[beta], which provide important consistency tests of the Standard Model.

We present measurements of inclusive charmonium production of charmonium in B decays and from the continuum, as well as exclusive branching ratios of B mesons into charmonium final states. We present also a measurement of the B[sup 0][yields] K[sup 0]*[gamma] branching ratio and a search for the decay B[sup 0][yields][gamma][gamma].

Both the BELLE and the BABAR collaboration presented, among others, results for sin 2ß with much improved accuracy. Results from the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory, SNO, also deserve to be mentioned. The convincing evidence of solar neutrino oscillations had been presented by SNO prior to the conference; a full presentation was given at the conference. An incredibly precise measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon is reported, a fresh result from the Brookhaven National Laboratory. Apart from these distinct physics highlights, there are also the first results from the new Tevatron run and from the relativistic heavy ion collider RHIC. Theorists write of our ever better understanding of the Standard Model and of what might lie beyond. Risky as it is to highlight only a couple of exciting subjects, it is merely meantto whet the appetite for further reading.

Combining the charmonium state with either a K[sup+-], K[sub s][sup 0], K*[sup+-] exclusive B decays are reconstructed and their branching ratios determined. Using the fully reconstructed decays, both the B[sup 0] B[sup+-] masses and their difference is measured. Finally the contributions of CP even and odd amplitudes in the decay B[yields] J/[psi] K* are determined from an angular analysis.

They present the first study of sin2[beta], with samples of B[sup 0][yields] J/[psi] K[sub s][sup 0] and B[sup 0][yields][psi](2S) K[sub 2][sup 0] decays, using 9.0 fb[sup -1] of data recorded between January and July 2000 at the[Upsilon](4S) resonance and 0.8 fb[sup -1] recorded 40 MeV below the[Upsilon](4S) resonance. A preliminary result of sin2[beta]= 0.12[+-] 0.37(stat)[+-] 0.09(syst) was obtained. Details of the analysis are given. Moreover, they present measurements of charged and neutral B meson lifetimes and B[sup 0][bar B][sup 0] oscillation frequency.
