Book Modeling of the Role of Atomic Hydrogen in Heat Transfer During Hot Filament Assisted Deposition of Diamond

Download or read book Modeling of the Role of Atomic Hydrogen in Heat Transfer During Hot Filament Assisted Deposition of Diamond written by and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 30 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The temperature and atomic hydrogen concentration profiles in a hot filament type diamond deposition reactor were determined experimentally and theoretically to demonstrate that the reaction of atomic hydrogen on the substrate surface plays an important role in the heating of the substrate. For a given filament temperature, the substrate temperature in helium was significantly lower than that in either pure hydrogen or 1 % methane-hydrogen atmospheres. The presence of small amounts of methane in hydrogen did not have any significant effect in influencing the shape of the atomic hydrogen concentration profile. In the shape between the filament and the substrate, the concentration field is established mainly due to the diffusive mixing of the atomic hydrogen with the molecular hydrogen and other species in the gas phase. Homogeneous chemical reactions in the gas phase do not significantly affect the atomic hydrogen concentration distribution in this region.

Book Scaling Laws for Diamond Chemical Vapor Deposition 2 Atomic Hydrogen Transport

Download or read book Scaling Laws for Diamond Chemical Vapor Deposition 2 Atomic Hydrogen Transport written by and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scaling relations are developed to allow estimation of the atomic hydrogen concentration at the substrate during diamond chemical vapor deposition for both diffusion-dominated and convection-dominated reactors. In the convection-dominated case, it is shown that there exists an optimal Mach number which maximizes the H concentration delivered to the substrate. In addition, when homogeneous recombination is taken into account, there exists an optimal operating pressure. This analysis shows that a sonic flow of highly dissociated hydrogen at a pressure near atmospheric is optimal for rapid growth of high-quality diamond.

Book Catalytic Chemical Vapor Deposition

Download or read book Catalytic Chemical Vapor Deposition written by Hideki Matsumura and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2019-02-15 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authoritative reference on catalytic chemical vapor deposition, written by the inventor of the technology. This comprehensive book covers a wide scope of Cat-CVD and related technologies from the fundamentals to the many applications, including the design of a Cat-CVD apparatus. Featuring contributions from four senior leaders in the field, including the father of catalytic chemical vapor deposition, it also introduces some of the techniques used in the observation of Cat-CVD related phenomena so that readers can understand the concepts of such techniques. Catalytic Chemical Vapor Deposition: Technology and Applications of Cat-CVD begins by reviewing the analytical tools for elucidating the chemical reactions in Cat-CVD, such as laser-induced fluorescence and deep ultra-violet absorption, and explains in detail the underlying physics and chemistry of the Cat-CVD technology. Subsequently it provides an overview of the synthesis and properties of Cat-CVD-prepared inorganic and organic thin films. The last parts of this unique book are devoted to the design and operation of Cat-CVD apparatuses and the applications. Provides coherent coverage of the fundamentals and applications of catalytic chemical vapor deposition (Cat-CVD) Assembles in one place the state of the art of this rapidly growing field, allowing new researchers to get an overview that is difficult to obtain solely from journal articles Presents comparisons of different Cat-CVD methods which are usually not found in research papers Bridges academic and industrial research, showing how CVD can be scaled up from the lab to large-scale industrial utilization in the high-tech industry. Catalytic Chemical Vapor Deposition: Technology and Applications is an excellent one-stop resource for researchers and engineers working on or entering the field of Cat-CVD, Hot-Wire CVD, iCVD, and related technologies.

Book Direct Simulation Monte Carlo Study of H H2 and H H2 CO Mixtures for Diamond Chemical Vapor Deposition

Download or read book Direct Simulation Monte Carlo Study of H H2 and H H2 CO Mixtures for Diamond Chemical Vapor Deposition written by and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page 57 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One dimensional direct simulation Monte Carlo calculations have been carried out on H/H2 and H/H2/CO mixtures under operating conditions typical of diffusion-dominated diamond chemical vapor deposition processes. Mechanisms have been included in the model for the adsorption and recombination of hydrogen atoms on the diamond surface and the dissociation of molecular hydrogen at the interior of the reactor. Hydrogen atom fluxes and recombinative and conductive heat fluxes to the diamond surface are calculated as a function of pressure, gas composition, hydrogen dissociation and surface reaction probabilities, reactor temperature, and distance between the activating source and substrate. The numerical calculations are shown to be in excellent agreement with analytical results in the limiting regimes of free-streaming particles at low pressures and continuum hydrodynamics at high pressures.
