Book Measurement of the Z Gamma Nu Anti nu Gamma Cross Section and Limits on Anomalous Z Z Gamma and Z Gamma Gamma Couplings in P Anti p Collisions at S 1 2

Download or read book Measurement of the Z Gamma Nu Anti nu Gamma Cross Section and Limits on Anomalous Z Z Gamma and Z Gamma Gamma Couplings in P Anti p Collisions at S 1 2 written by and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 7 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present the first observation of the Z[gamma] →[nu]{bar [nu]}[gamma] process at the Tevatron at 5.1 standard deviations significance, based on 3.6 fb−1 of integrated luminosity collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron p{bar p} Collider at √s = 1.96 TeV. The measured Z[gamma] cross section multiplied by the branching fraction of Z → {nu}{bar {nu}} is 32 ± 9(stat. + syst.) ± 2(lumi.) fb for the photon E{sub T} > 90 GeV. It is in agreement with the standard model prediction of 39 ± 4 fb. We set the most restrictive limits on anomalous trilinear Z[gamma][gamma] and ZZ[gamma] gauge boson couplings at a hadron collider to date, with three constraints being the world's strongest.

Book excerpt: The authors performed a direct search for the anomalous ZZ[gamma] and Z[gamma][gamma] couplings by studying p[anti p][yields][ell][ell][gamma]+ X, ([ell]= e, [mu]) events at[radical]s= 1.8 TeV with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. A fit to the transverse energy spectrum of the photon in the signal events, based on the data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 14.3 pb[sup[minus]1] (13.7 pb[sup[minus]1]) for the electron (muon) channel, yields the following 95% confidence level limits on the anomalous CP-conserving ZZ[gamma] couplings:[vert-bar]h[sub 30][sup Z][vert-bar]

This book was released on 2012 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A study of the properties of the Z$\gamma$ diboson system is presented using 5.0 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data from the LHC using the CMS detector. The pp $\rightarrow Z(\rightarrow\mu \mu) \gamma$ and pp $\rightarrow Z(\rightarrow e e) \gamma$ production cross sections are measured within the fiducial volume of CMS with a combined measurement of $\sigma_{\ell\ell\gamma} = 5.33 \pm 0.08 ~\text{(stat.)} \pm 0.25 ~\text{(syst.)} \pm 0.12 ~\text{(lumi.)}$ pb that is in good agreement with Standard Model predictions. Upper limits on the neutral anomalous triple gauge couplings set are the most stringent limits on these couplings to date, with allowed regions: $-0.010

This book was released on 2015 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The cross section for the production of Z[gamma] in proton-proton collisions at 8 TeV is measured based on data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 fb−1. Events with an oppositely-charged pair of muons or electrons together with an isolated photon are selected. The differential cross section as a function of the photon transverse momentum is measured inclusively and exclusively, where the exclusive selection applies a veto on central jets. The observed cross sections are compatible with the expectations of next-to-next-to-leading-order quantum chromodynamics. Limits on anomalous triple gauge couplings of ZZ[gamma] and Z[gamma][gamma] are set that improve on previous experimental results obtained with the charged lepton decay modes of the Z boson.

Book Measurement of Z Gamma Production in Pbar p Collisions at Sqrt s

Download or read book Measurement of Z Gamma Production in Pbar p Collisions at Sqrt s written by and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 8 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The production rate and kinematics of photons produced in association with Z bosons are studied using 2 fb−1 of p{bar p} collision data collected at the Collider Detector at Fermilab. The cross section for p{bar p} → ll−? + X (where the leptons l are either muons or electrons with dilepton mass M{sub l{ell}}> 40 GeV/c2, and where the photon has transverse energy E{sub T}{sup?}> 7 GeV and is well separated from the leptons) is 4.6 ± 0.2 (stat) ± 0.3 (syst) ± 0.3 (lum) pb, which is consistent with standard model expectations. We use the photon ET distribution from Z{gamma} events where the Z has decayed to?+?−, e+e−, or?{bar {nu}} to set limits on anomalous (non-standard-model) trilinear couplings between photons and Z bosons.

Book Measurements of Differential Cross Sections of Z gamma jets X Events in Proton Anti proton Collisions at S 1 2

Download or read book Measurements of Differential Cross Sections of Z gamma jets X Events in Proton Anti proton Collisions at S 1 2 written by and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present cross section measurements for Z/[gamma]* + jets + X production, differential in the transverse momenta of the three leading jets. The data sample was collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron p{bar p} collider at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1 fb−1. Leading and next-to-leading order perturbative QCD predictions are compared with the measurements, and agreement is found within the theoretical and experimental uncertainties. We also make comparisons with the predictions of four event generators. Two parton-shower-based generators show significant shape and normalization differences with respect to the data. In contrast, two generators combining tree-level matrix elements with a parton shower give a reasonable description of the shapes observed in data, but the predicted normalizations show significant differences with respect to the data, reflecting large scale uncertainties. For specific choices of scales, the normalizations for either generator can be made to agree with the measurements.

Book excerpt: A measurement of the Z gamma to nu nu-bar gamma production cross section in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 8 TeV is presented, using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.6 inverse-femtobarns collected with the CMS detector at the LHC. This measurement is based on the observation of events with large missing energy and with a single photon with transverse momentum above 145 GeV and absolute pseudorapidity in the range
