Book excerpt: We determine the relative branching fractions of semileptonic B decays to charmed final states. The measurement is performed on the recoil from a fully reconstructed B meson in a sample of 362 million B{bar B} pairs collected at the [Upsilon](4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. A simultaneous fit to a set of discriminating variables is performed on a sample of {bar B} → DXl−{bar {nu}}{sub {ell}} decays to determine the contributions from the different channels.

Book excerpt: We report a measurement of the branching fractions of {bar B} 2!D** l−{bar {nu}}{sub l} decays based on 417 fb−1 of data collected at the [Upsilon](4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II ee− storage rings. Events are selected by fully reconstructing one of the B mesons in a hadronic decay mode. A fit to the invariant mass differences m(D{sup (*)})-m(D{sup (*)}) is performed to extract the signal yields of the different D** states. We observe the {bar B} 2!D**{ell}−{bar {nu}}{sub {ell}} decay modes corresponding to the four D** states predicted by Heavy Quark Symmetry with a significance greater than six standard deviations including systematic uncertainties.

The partial branching fraction for {bar B} 2!X{sub u}l{bar {nu}} decays for M{sub X} 1.7 GeV/c2 and q2 8 GeV2/c4 is measured to be [Delta][Beta]({bar b} 2!X{sub u}l{bar {nu}}) = (0.87 ± 0.09{sub stat} ± 0.09{sub sys} ± 0.01{sub th}) x 10−3. Book excerpt: The authors report the observation of 823[+-] 57 B[sup 0] and 970[+-] 65 B[sup+] decays to doubly charmed final states[bar D][sup (*)] D[sup (*)]K, where[bar D][sup (*)] and D[sup (*)] are fully reconstructed and K is either a K[sup[+-]] or a K[sup 0]. They use a sample of 82.3[+-] 0.9 million B[bar B] events collected between 1999 and 2002 with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage ring at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The 22 possible B decays to[bar D][sup (*)] D[sup (*)]K are reconstructed exclusively and the corresponding branching fractions or limits are determined. The branching fractions of the B[sup 0] and of the B[sup+] to[bar D][sup (*)] D[sup (*)]K are found to be[Beta](B[sup 0][yields][bar D][sup (*)]D[sup (*)]K)= (4.3[+-] 0.3(stat)[+-] 0.6(sys))%, [Beta](B[sup+][yields][bar D][sup (*)] D[sup (*)]K)= (3.5[+-] 0.3(stat)[+-] 0.5(syst))%.

Book excerpt: Preliminary results are presented on the branching fractions B (B[sup 0] --> D[sub s][sup *+]D[sup *-]) and B (D[sub s][sup +] --> [phi][pi][sup +]), based on a data sample of approximately 124 x 10[sup 6] B[bar B] events collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e[sup +]e[sup -] B-factory. B (B[sup 0] --> D[sub s][sup *+]D[sup *-]) is measured selecting neutral B meson decays to the final state D[sup *-]D[sub s][sup *+] with partial reconstruction of the D[sub s][sup *+], in which only the D[sup *-] and the soft photons from the decay D[sub s][sup *+] --> D[sub s][sup +][gamma] are reconstructed. The branching fraction product B (B[sup 0] --> D[sub s][sup *+]D[sup *-]) [center-dot] B(D[sub s][sup +] --> [phi][pi][sup +]) is measured via a complete reconstruction of the whole decay chain. Comparing these two measurements provides a model-independent determination of the B (D[sub s][sup +] --> [phi][pi][sup +]) branching fraction. The authors obtain the following preliminary results: B(B[sup 0] --> D[sub s][sup *+]D[sup *-]) = (1.85 [+-] 0.09 [+-] 0.16)%; B(D[sub s][sup +] --> [phi][pi][sup +]) = (4.71 [+-] 0.47 [+-] 0.35)% where the first error in each measurement is statistical, the second systematic.

Events are tagged by fully reconstructing one of the B mesons in a hadronic decay mode. We measure the relative branching fraction [Beta]({bar B} 2![Lambda]{sub c}+ Xl−{bar {nu}}{sub {ell}})/[Beta]({bar B} 2![Lambda]{sub c}+/{bar {Lambda}}{sub c}−X) = (3.2 ± 0.9{sub stat.} ± 0.9{sub syst.})%. The significance of the signal including the systematic uncertainty is 4.9 standard deviations.

Events are tagged with a fully reconstructed hadronic decay of a B meson. The correlation between the flavor of the tag B meson and the electron charge allows the separation of prompt semileptonic B decays and cascade semileptonic charm decays. We obtain the preliminary inclusive semileptonic branching fraction of charged B mesons b+ = 0.103+/-0.006+/-0.005, neutral B mesons b0 = 0.104+/-0.008+/-0.005, their average b = 0.104+/-0.005+/-0.004, and their ratio b+/b0 = 0.99+/-0.10+/-0.03.

In this paper, a study of these events is reported, including preliminary measurements of the absolute branching fractions for these modes, which are found to be B(B[sup 0][yields] D*[sup -][pi][sup+]= 2.9[+-] 0.3[+-] 0.3) x 10[sup -3] and B(B[sup 0][yields] D*[sup -][rho][sup+])= (11.2[+-] 1.1[+-] 2.5) x 10[sup -3].
