Book excerpt: The D0 experiment has measured the[gamma] differential cross section in p[bar p] collisions at[radical]s= 1.8 TeV for[vert-bar]y[sup[gamma]][vert-bar]0.7. We find the measured cross section to be a factor of five larger than the O([alpha][sub s][sup 3]) QCD prediction for p[sub T][sup[gamma]] 5 GeV/c.

Book excerpt: This thesis details the measurement of the p{bar p} {yields} W{gamma} + X {yields} {mu}{nu}{gamma} + X cross section at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV using the D0 detector at Fermilab, in 134.5 pb{sup -1} of integrated luminosity. From the photon E{sub T} spectrum limits on anomalous couplings of the photon to the W are obtained. At 95% confidence level, limits of -1.05

Book excerpt: The photon plus heavy-flavour quark (b, c) final state provides a unique and valuable window into both the sea quark content of the proton and the splitting of gluons into heavy-flavour quark pairs. A new combination of experimental techniques has provided the basis for the first measurements of the differential [gamma] + c + X and [gamma] + b + X production cross sections at √s = 1.96 TeV. The measurements use ≈ 1 fb−1 of data from p{bar p} collisions collected with the D0 detector.

This book was released on 2009 with total page 7 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present the first observation of the Z[gamma] →[nu]{bar [nu]}[gamma] process at the Tevatron at 5.1 standard deviations significance, based on 3.6 fb−1 of integrated luminosity collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron p{bar p} Collider at √s = 1.96 TeV. The measured Z[gamma] cross section multiplied by the branching fraction of Z → {nu}{bar {nu}} is 32 ± 9(stat. + syst.) ± 2(lumi.) fb for the photon E{sub T} > 90 GeV. It is in agreement with the standard model prediction of 39 ± 4 fb. We set the most restrictive limits on anomalous trilinear Z[gamma][gamma] and ZZ[gamma] gauge boson couplings at a hadron collider to date, with three constraints being the world's strongest.
