Mawlid or the birthday of Allah's beloved Prophet Mohammad was celebrated with all the unheretical practices for approximately thirteen hundred years. It is only after the Ottoman Empire that a kind of debate on the celebration of his birthday is continued. The author, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen Sultan Mohammad Najib-ur-Rehman has answered all queries regarding celebration of Mawlid. He has proven the validity of celebrating the prestigious day of the Prophet’s arrival by the authentic events, Hadiths, Sunna and extracts from the legendary scholars of Islam. Book THE RULING CONCERNING THE CELEBRATION OF MAWLID

Download or read book THE RULING CONCERNING THE CELEBRATION OF MAWLID written by Saleh Bin Fawzaan Al-Fawzaan and published by Rahman. This book was released on 2022-06-10 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The celebration of Mawlid an-Nabawi (birthday of Allah's Messenger) is celebrated on the day the Prophet passed away (i.e., 12th of Rabie al-Awwal). The birth-day of the Prophet as proven by the almanac is 9th Rabie al-Awwal. Ironically, only a few years ago the celebration was called, 'Bara Wafaat' (i.e., 12th - the day of death), but recently it was renamed, 'Eid Milad' (the celebration of Milad/Mawlid) or Mawlid an-Nabawi. Some (of those who celebrate Mawlid an-Nabawi) believe that the Messenger of Allah visits (the celebrations of) Mawlid. They also stand to greet and welcome the Prophet. This is the greatest falsehood and worst form of ignorance because the Prophet shall never come out of his grave before the Day of Resurrection. He will neither meet/make contact with any person nor attend their gatherings.

Book excerpt: This stunning collection showcases the love poetry and mystical teachings at the heart of the Islamic tradition in accurate and poetic original translations At a time when the association of Islam with violence dominates headlines, this beautiful collection offers us a chance to see a radically different face of the Islamic tradition. It traces a soaring, poetic, popular tradition that celebrates love for both humanity and the Divine as the ultimate path leading humanity back to God. Safi brings together for the first time the passages of the Qur'an sought by the Muslim sages, the mystical sayings of the Prophet, and the teachings of the path of "Divine love." Accurately and sensitively translated by leading scholar of Islam Omid Safi, the writings of Jalal al‑Din Rumi can now be read alongside passages by Kharaqani, 'Attar, Hafez of Shiraz, Abu Sa'id‑e Abi 'l‑Khayr, and other key Muslim mystics. For the millions of readers whose lives have been touched by Rumi's poetry, here is a chance to see the Arabic and Persian traditions that produced him.

Book The Presence of the Prophet in Early Modern and Contemporary Islam

Download or read book The Presence of the Prophet in Early Modern and Contemporary Islam written by Rachida Chih and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2021-11-15 with total page 520 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This second collective volume of the series The Presence of the Prophet explores the growing importance of the figure of the Prophet Muhammad for questions of authority and power in early modern and modern times. The authors provide a rich collection of case studies on how Muhammad’s material, spiritual, and genealogical heritage has been claimed for the foundation of Muslim empires, revolutionary movements, the formation of modern nation states and ideologies, as well as for communal mobilization and social reform. This novel comparative, and diachronic study, which is unique for its wide coverage of regional cases and perspectives, reveals diverse political representations of the Prophet in an increasingly globalised struggle over the control of his image between secularization and sacralization. Contributors Gianfranco Bria, Rachida Chih, Christoph Günther, Gottfried Hagen, Jan-Peter Hartung, David Jordan, Soraya Khodamoradi, Jamal Malik, Catherine Mayeur-Jaouen, Alix Philippon, Martin Riexinger, Stefan Reichmuth, Dilek Sarmis, Renaud Soler, Jaafar Ben El Haj Soulami, Florian Zemmin.

Book The Emissary Elect

Download or read book The Emissary Elect written by 'Abd-Ahmad and published by Amjadi. This book was released on 2017-12-07 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Emissary Elect is a concise Sīrah of the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وسلم, highlighting the main events in his blessed life. It is therefore ideal as a teaching template that can be used in Madrasahs, as well as Mawlid gatherings as it is brief and can be covered in a short period of time, or simply as an introduction to the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وسلم for someone who is not familiar with his blessed life. We hope when one has read this concise biography of the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وسلم one will have the desire then to progress to a more detailed Sīrah and read about him صلى الله عليه وسلم in more depth. We advise that one reads Sīrat al-Muṣṭafā صلى الله عليه وسلم by ʿAllāmah ʿAbd al-Muṣṭafā al-Aʿẓamī which is available in English entitled Muḥammad, The Prophet of Islām, as many ‘Siyar’ are misinformative and therefore do not give an accurate account of incidents. This is the most correct Sīrah available in the English language to our knowledge and contains many proofs in respect to the beliefs of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah regarding the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وسلم to which others object. Second Edition Apart from general improvements, for this edition, footnotes have been converted to endnotes, to which references have been added. We appreciate the feedback we received, especially the notifying of errors. These have been corrected to the best of our knowledge.

Book excerpt: Developed in response to the events of September 11, 2001, these 14 articles from prominent Muslim thinkers offer a provocative reassessment of Islam's relationship with the modern world. Confronting issues such as racism, justice, sexuality and gender, this book reveals the real challenges faced by Muslims of both sexes in contemporary Western society. A probing, frank, and intellectually refreshing testament to the capacity of Islam for renewal, change, and growth, these articles from fifteen Muslim scholars and activists address the challenging and complex issues that confront Muslims today. Avoiding fundamentalist and apologetic approaches, the book concentrates on the key areas of debate in progressive Islamic thought: "Contemporary Islam," "Gender Justice," and "Pluralism." With further contributions on subjects as diverse and controversial as the alienation of Muslim youth; Islamic law, marriage, and feminism; and the role of democracy in Islam, this volume will prove thought-provoking for all those interested in the challenges of justice and pluralism facing the Muslim world as it confronts the twenty-first century.
