This expository study of the Word is dedicated to Dr. Schafer's lifelong desire for saints to live Christ-like. H. LaVern Schafer served the Lord in several capacities for over 65 years as a Christian. He was pastor for 53 years, seminary professor for 44 years, and director of Dispensational Theological Seminary for 28 years. He earned his Doctorate of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, where his class was one of the last taught by Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer. Dr. Schafer practiced a literal interpretation of Scripture. He believed that God's Word is meant to be interpreted literally to determine the exact concepts God is communicating and not what the reader wishes the Word to say. This desire resulted in a dispensational approach while interpreting Scripture with a historical linguistic treatment of the original text. His Christian Life series of booklets have been a blessing to thousands of believers. He went home to be with the Lord in 2008.

Jesus Christ went through the exact same things we are going through, on this earth, yet He, through the power of the Holy Spirit, overcame the world and being made perfect, “as a man,” He was fully qualified to die for each one of us, taking our sins upon Himself, paying for those sins, with His blood, fulfilling the law that says “sin must die!” He endured the terrible suffering of the cruel physical pain of the cross and the horrible agony of one being temporarily, spiritually separated from God the Father, when He took our sins upon Himself, for God cannot look upon sin! Christ, unselfishly took all of that horrific terror and pain of our sin, upon Himself, all because of His deep love for each one of us! Christ, our High Priest, is the ultimate and supreme example for us to live our lives by! However, we, within the confines of our earthly minds, are not fully able to attain to His perfection! However, through the blood of Jesus Christ, “if” we have the “boldness” to enter in to the “Holiest,” we may then fully be able to be partakers of God’s Holy Spirit, which will and does lead us into our being able to be conformed to Christ’s image! This personal presence with God, can be attained by our being silent before God, waiting on Him, in humble prayer! Do you have the “faith” and the “boldness” to enter into God’s presence?
