Book In Your Moment

Download or read book In Your Moment written by Dr. Douglas Lindsay and published by Outskirts Press. This book was released on 2024-02-26 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Join Dr. Douglas Lindsay and Dr. Joseph Balskus as they strategically and methodically unfold the very temporal framework of a single moment and the consequences of that one moment. This compelling book hits and penetrates the heart, specifically asking how you choose to live your time and the moments that make up your time, how you show up to your moments, and how you prepare for your moments. Lindsay and Balskus introduce their own Tempus Model, which is a breakthrough, practical model for human behavior that occurs within a moment. As they unfold and dissect their Tempus Model, you will be compelled to evaluate the notion of time, within your moments. To supplement your appetite for understanding you and your moments, they present examples of those who made tremendous decisions that had favorable consequences and those who failed to maximize the moments they had, by choices they made (or didn’t make). They will wind through the entire decision process within the moment and also evaluate why some people successfully navigate moments, while others seem to have moments and consequences they regret. Each component of the model will offer a glimpse into yourself as a person, a spouse, a father, a mother, an employee, a leader. These questions, along with others found in each chapter offer time for reflection on your moments, and the pre and post-moment checklists will provide a tremendous resource for leadership growth. You will read and feel how precious and special our moments are by reading of the author’s personal stories of moments they have had to face in their own lives, including the story of one who experienced an unexpected moment. A moment no one ever wants to face but may encounter. Someone who had a promising life cut short yet, while they lived, capitalized on purposefully and effectively living each moment they had remaining. Don’t miss this reading and learning experience. Time is the single common commodity that transcends culture, occupation, societies, career choice, and so many other things. It is one incident that everyone on earth possesses. Thankfully, we get to choose what we do with it. Since we don’t directly control the amount of time we have, we are left to have significance in the moments that we do have. Start now by examining your moments, learn how to better prepare for those moments, and grow from empowering techniques to enact behaviors that are consistent with how you want to be as a person and as a leader. Lindsay and Balskus are already making an impact with their breakthrough Tempus Model by successfully presenting workshops and seminars that captivate and challenge their audiences. They believe that no one is ever off the developmental journey as a leader. Their research is compelling and this book was written to pause, document, capture, and share a unique and special perspective to help you on your journey as leaders and individuals. Join them as they joyfully and brilliantly share a perspective that their odyssey through leader development has revealed to them, IN THIS MOMENT.

Book excerpt: I was in prayer on the morning of September 20, 2017, and God arrested my attention and spoke to me very specifically saying, "I want you to write on the subject of moments." Because the moment has been so abused, misused, and not recognized from the existence of time. God wanted me to send a strong message to the Body of Christ and the world at large. The message is this: We are entering the shifting of a season that is totally pregnant with your possibility, potential, and purpose. We are living in our finest hour; and God is on the verge of shifting our families, our children, our lives, our finances, our ministries, our businesses, and all we have in our hands. This is the time, ideas come to us that will shift the culture in which we live. This is as the renaissance period when new technologies will erupt, new ideas will hit the forefront, and it will change the nation in which we live. God said "I would like to bring it in, though the Body of Christ, but the mentality of the Body of Christ has to shift from the immature state in which it presently exists. I have already released many of the ideas, to my Body, but they have not believed. They have been more conscious of what has been, that they are on the verge of missing another moment, I have presented to them. Don't let the fears of your past hinder what I am doing next; what's next will baffle the minds of many, if my body releases and reveals the ingenious ideas I have given them. The goal is not to be rich, but it is the results of obeying what I have given you. The goal is changing this nation, and bringing the fresh ideas that I have given to my body to change it. No, many will not believe you have a cutting-edge product that will change the Body of Christ and the Nation; they have grown accustomed to recycling what has been, but I have given you an idea that is fresh and cutting-edge. It does have to be released before the Body of Christ will get the credit and the nation will be changed. For that reason, I have created moments and made them available to you, for your benefit. The moments are totally Pregnant with Potential, Possibility, and Purpose. These moments are time sensitive; Don't let the time run out on the moment I have allotted to you!

Book The Moment of Clarity

Download or read book The Moment of Clarity written by Christian Madsbjerg and published by Harvard Business Review Press. This book was released on 2014-02-11 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Businesses need a new type of problem solving. Why? Because they are getting people wrong. Traditional problem-solving methods taught in business schools serve us well for some of the everyday challenges of business, but they tend to be ineffective with problems involving a high degree of uncertainty. Why? Because, more often than not, these tools are based on a flawed model of human behavior. And that flawed model is the invisible scaffolding that supports our surveys, our focus groups, our R&D, and much of our long-term strategic planning. In The Moment of Clarity, Christian Madsbjerg and Mikkel Rasmussen examine the business world’s assumptions about human behavior and show how these assumptions can lead businesses off track. But the authors chart a way forward. Using theories and tools from the human sciences—anthropology, sociology, philosophy, and psychology—The Moment of Clarity introduces a practical framework called sensemaking. Sensemaking’s nonlinear problem-solving approach gives executives a better way to understand business challenges involving shifts in human behavior. This new methodology, a fundamentally different way to think about strategy, is already taking off in Fortune 100 companies around the world. Through compelling case studies and their direct experience with LEGO, Samsung, Adidas, Coloplast, and Intel, Madsbjerg and Rasmussen will show you how to solve problems as diverse as setting company direction, driving growth, improving sales models, understanding the real culture of your organization, and finding your way in new markets. Over and over again, executives say the same thing after engaging in a process of sensemaking: “Now I see it . . .” This experience—the moment of clarity—has the potential to drive the entire strategic future of your company. Isn’t it time you and your firm started getting people right? Learn more about the innovation and strategy work of ReD Associates at: redassociates.com
