Book Mastering Corporations and Other Business Entities

Download or read book Mastering Corporations and Other Business Entities written by Lee Harris and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The title of the basic business law course--Corporations, Business Associations Business Organizations, or Business Entities--varies from law school to law school and from year to year. However, in these courses, the core coverage is essentially the same--agency principles, partnership law, fiduciary duties, securities fraud, and changes in corporate control. This relatively concise book is intended to reach students in the basic corporate law course, regardless of course title. This book attempts to make the usual coverage as easy and straightforward as possible. Although the vast majority of law students take a corporations or basic business organizations course, there are surprisingly few attempts to systematically organize the most important doctrines and theories covered. Of the few books that track the basic business law course, even fewer still are of recent vintage. This book attempts to fill those lacunae. The book intends to aid students, of course, in the basic Corporations or Business Organizations courses. Additionally, this book would be a useful resource to students in other closely related courses in law school, like Agency & Partnership, Closely Held Firms, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Securities Regulation, to name just a few. In addition to law schools, the book is also written with an eye toward the graduate students in business administration who are frequently enrolled in a basic business law course, as well as the newly minted corporate attorney who wants a refresher text.

Book Mastering Business Administration in Education and African Politics The Sierra Leone Chapter

Download or read book Mastering Business Administration in Education and African Politics The Sierra Leone Chapter written by Mohamed Sannoh and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2013-07-31 with total page 207 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mastering Business Administration in Education and African Politics (the Sierra Leone Chapter) This is a revised and improved edition of your book, and as I have already been told, it is quite up-to-date with far more relevant information that address education, educational business, and political issues in Africa in particular, and how these are disturbing educational developments, especially in sub-Sahara and also with suggestions for improvements. According to Mohan Kaul, the co-chairman of Commonwealth Business Council, giving the challenges ahead, governments have realized that it is beyond their capacity and means to achieve the task of improving education for all. However, Patrick Dlamini, Chief Executive of Development Bank of South Africa, sited what has gone wrong with sudden growth of private schooling outside state control. The government is having problems of retaining seasoned teachers. Private schooling is poaching the best of brains from the public schooling system, and the government is left with poor-quality teaching and inexperienced teachers because now the private sector has taken the crme de la crme. How do you balance that? But business is business, and business is about getting the customers what they want and satisfying them most. If African governments are unable to provide what people prefer most, people have the right to choose from existing alternatives so that they can spend their hard earnings on what they want and what can satisfy them most as long as they have the ability and willingness to pay for them. That is the dictation of free-market philosophy. Mohamed Sannoh, Methodist Boys High School, Kissy Mess Mess, Freetown.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Mastering the Cube" skillfully lays out proven organization design principles. Comparing today's complex organizations to a Rubik's Cube, the authors explain how focusing improvement efforts on just one or two facets of the organization is akin to concentrating on just one side of the cube. Doing so is bound to affect-and more likely jumble-the other areas needed to generate a healthy and sustainable organization. They advocate stepping back and taking a systems-wide, comprehensive view of change and bringing all elements into alignment with strategy. They describe eight common beliefs and missteps that cause leaders to stumble, and they offer eight building blocks to effectively orchestrate complex organizational change. Written for both business leaders and their change partners in human resources, organization effectiveness, organization design, strategy, information technology, and process or continuous improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma), the book offers practical wisdom to help readers develop a shared perspective on organization design and achieve positive business results. It also outlines key principles and concepts for leading effective organization alignment-and moving your organization into a productive, rewarding future. Whether the transformation before you involves restructuring, consolidations, or mergers and acquisitions, this resource provides the guidance you'll need to become skilled in the important, real work of strategic organizational alignment. "This is a great step-by-step how-to manual on defining and changing the design of your company. If you're facing such challenges and have only time to read one thing, read this. Mastering the Cube offers thoughtful and practical wisdom and techniques for any leader who seeks to ensure that the organization design efforts they undertake are aligned with strategy and result in sustainable business impact." --Angela S. I found the guidance equally applicable to all types of organizations: for-profit, government, and non-profit." --Ann R.
