Download or read book Mayhem written by Michele R. McPhee and published by Steerforth. This book was released on 2020-04-14 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Readable. Fascinating. Convincing." —Kirkus Reviews "You may think you know this story, but until you read this book, you don't." —T. J. English, New York Times bestselling author With the Supreme Court hearing new arguments this fall over whether Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev can be put to death, this thrilling and meticulously researched account is an eye opener for anyone with lingering questions about one of the most notorious acts of terrorism since 9/11 Investigative journalist Michele R. McPhee reports the details and delivers the facts, piecing together the puzzle so readers are able to come to their own conclusions. This page-turning narrative goes a long way toward answering questions that still linger about the notorious Boston Marathon bombing, such as: Where were the bombs made? And what had been Tamerlan Tsarnaev's relationship to the FBI? Mayhem casts a spotlight on the U.S. Government's relationship with the older Tsarnaev brother as his younger brother, Dzhokhar, will continue his efforts to have his death sentence commuted in October, just days after the Boston Marathon will be run for the first time since 2019. The federal government may be forced to confirm a longstanding relationship with Tamerlan and its decision to shield him from investigation for the Sept. 11, 2011 ISIS-style triple murder of three friends. As they infamously did with Whitey Bulger, federal agents appear to have protected Tamerlan because of his value as a paid informant. Mayhem has been substantially revised and updated in this first paperback edition.

Download or read book 5 000 Years of Korean Martial Arts written by R. Barry Harmon and published by Dog Ear Publishing. This book was released on 2007 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "5000 Years of Korean Martial Art" is a one of a kind history book. No other Korean martial art history book on the market is as complete and in-depth. Citing historical references for support, and featuring many rare pictures and some images that are not available from any other published source. This book attempts to place Korean martial arts in it's proper historical perspective in relationship to Chinese and Japanese martial arts. Both Chinese and Japanese martial arts have well known and documented histories, so much so that they have completely overshadowed Korean martial art history. I have attempted to compensate for that overshadowing by focusing on the successes of the Korean martial arts throughout history. Barry Harmon has a BA degree in "Psychosomatics and Alternative Healing Studies" from San Francisco State University. He has an acupuncture degree from the San Francisco College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is certified nationally through the NCCAOM and license to practice acupuncture in Texas. In addition to his academics, he has been training and studying martial arts since 1965 and Kuk Sool Won since 1971. In 2002 KBS (Korean Broadcasting System) featured Master Harmon and his family in an hour long documentary which was aired throughout South Korea. Master Harmon currently holds an 9th degree black belt in Kuk Sool Won and has been featured in numerous martial arts magazines. In 2005 he was chosen by Tae Kwan Do Times magazine as instructor of the year. He has taught martial arts in many countries around the world including South Korea."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "You do not have to do this, I can disappear, you will never hear of me again!" The Gestapo official protested. His head rebounded against the tiled wall, a reddish black dot spectacular on his forehead. "Disappear? You got that right." I said, looking down at his corpse. Once again, I thought of the vast number of lives I had saved by taking a single one. It was open season on all Gestapo and SS ranks above that of Hauptsturmführer. Marcus Tychon Triarius meets Prime Minister Winston Churchill beneath the war torn streets of World War Two London. The PM demands to see the tattoo on the American's arm - an SS blood group tattoo. Triarius is about to embark on a suicidal mission fearful that his Kentucky wife will never understand his motives - which are to disrupt the Nazi war machine like never before. He spreads terror amongst leading SS and Gestapo personnel but then visits Dachau concentration Camp, disguised as a Gestapo agent. Triarius' luck is beginning to wear thin and after an 'eerie' experience on a Warsaw bound train, he is finally snared and taken in chains to the 'Hoffenheim Hotel' - the Gestapo's most notorious torture site. As the Allies close in on the Thousand Year Reich, Marcus is transported across the Alps in a Junkers that is unexpectedly shot down by a stray RAF Spitfire - two passengers survive. Marcus and Gert Koehler, his chief Gestapo tormentor.

Download or read book Batman Resurrection written by John Jackson Miller and published by Random House. This book was released on 2024-10-15 with total page 433 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After The Joker’s death, Batman and Gotham City face a mysterious new threat in this direct sequel to Tim Burton’s iconic Batman. The Joker is dead, but not forgotten. Gotham City is saved, but it is still not safe. By night, its new symbol of hope, Batman, continues his fight to protect the innocent and the powerless. By day, his alter ego, Bruce Wayne, wonders whether there may someday be a future beyond skulking the city’s rooftops or the cavernous halls of his stately manor alongside the ever-dutiful Alfred Pennyworth. But even after death, the Clown Prince of Crime’s imprint can be seen in more than just the pavement. Remnants from The Joker’s gang are leading wannabes fascinated by his bizarre mystique on a campaign of arson that threatens the city—even as it serves greedy opportunists, including millionaire Max Shreck. And survivors of exposure to The Joker’s chemical weapon Smylex continue to crowd Gotham City’s main hospital. To quell the chaos, Batman needs more than his cape and his well-stocked Utility Belt. Bruce Wayne is forced into action, prompting a partnership with a charismatic scientist to help solve the health crisis. But as he works in both the shadows and the light, Bruce finds himself drawn deeper into Gotham City’s turmoil than ever before, fueling his obsession to save the city—an obsession that has already driven a wedge between him and Vicki Vale. The loyal Alfred, who had hoped Bruce’s efforts as Batman could help him find closure, finds the opposite happening. Nightmares begin to prompt Bruce to ask new questions about the climactic events in the cathedral, and investigations by Commissioner Gordon and reporter Alexander Knox into the arsons only amplify his concerns. Having told the people of Gotham City that they’d earned a rest from crime, Batman finds the forces of evil growing ever more organized—and orchestrated—by a sinister hand behind the scenes. The World’s Greatest Detective must solve the greatest mystery of all: Could The Joker have somehow survived? And could he still have the last laugh against the people of Gotham City?
