Book Marketing Strategy for Small to Medium Sized Manufacturers

Download or read book Marketing Strategy for Small to Medium Sized Manufacturers written by Charles E. France and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Small and medium-sized manufacturers' attempts to grow their business often produce less-than-desired results due to self-inflicted obstacles and pitfalls that defeat their well-intended efforts. Many do not follow generally accepted basic business practices such as knowing product costs and margins, conducting market research to identify prospective customers, and understanding competitors' advantages and disadvantages; all needed to build effective growth strategies. Their approach to pursuing growth strategies--a.k.a shotgun marketing--is akin to ready, shoot, aim--and often the business' working capital, cash flow, financial ratios, and overall profitability are insufficient to afford the costs of needed sales, marketing, and promotional strategies typically called for to find and develop new customers, markets, and products. Based on twenty-one case studies and one hundred twenty-six reviews of manufacturers' sales and marketing practices, the book explains the common pitfalls these companies experience and offers common sense, practicable, and affordable step-by-step how to's for cost and profitability analyses on products and customers, finding prospective new customers, conducting marketing research, and deciphering and using competitor intelligence. It also provides guidelines for determining the best combination of sales coverage for inside/outside sales and independent reps and for estimating the cost to implement sales, marketing, promotional, and growth strategies. It is a handy self-help resource to the approximately three hundred thousand small to medium-sized manufacturers we will need as the economy rebounds and creates opportunities for profitable growth--not just sales volume.

Book Marketing Strategies of Chinese Companies

Download or read book Marketing Strategies of Chinese Companies written by Fenghua Tang and published by Diplomica Verlag. This book was released on 2010-06 with total page 91 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ten or fifteen years ago global business was mainly in the hands of a select number of multinational giants. Small and medium-sized business concentrated on their home markets and perhaps one or two neighboring countries. Not so any longer. Even the smallest businesses have realized that they have something to market in distant countries. Under these circumstances, Chinese companies of all sizes in various industries have recently opened to foreign competition. According to the Chinese Commerce Ministry's new release on relevant report, the Chinese foreign investment reached a new record of 26,51 billion US-Dollars in 2007. This represented a growth of 25,3 percent compared to 2006. After the quantity expansion, the quality offensive comes silently. Today, Chinese companies throw not only millions of T-Shirts, toys or plastic bowls in the international market but also wireless LCD-televisions, telecom-equipment and precision tools as well. Chinese companies have realized that a competitive advantage based on low costs, low prices and large quantities in a global economy cannot defend itself long. Consequently, they focus consistently on innovation and brands. In addition, China's globalization also needs strong mental forces. China does not just want to be a world factory, but instead be an internationally competitive market place that Western competitors already are. In the involvement of Chinese companies abroad aimed at specific markets, several strategies are recognizable. German and European companies are facing new chances and challenges at the same time. People must correctly assess the situation and corporate strategies and business concepts, with which they respond effectively and sustainably. The following questions are the focus: In what areas and branches do Chinese companies concentrate in German market? Which Chinese companies go abroad? What are their market entry strategies? What are their competitive strategies? And what are the steps of Chinese investments? What problems in the Chinese M&A business in Germany? How to overcome or avoid them? What are other problems? What branches are suffering from Chinese competition in Germany and EU? Chances or threats? How can German companies face this shift in a global economy and respond appropriately?

Book The New Way to Market for Manufacturing

Download or read book The New Way to Market for Manufacturing written by Bruce McDuffee and published by . This book was released on 2016-03-04 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The window of opportunity is open for progressive marketers in the manufacturing sector, but it is slowly closing as the "New Way" to market begins to catch on. Manufacturers who are willing and able to implement the New Way to match their prospective customers' buying strategies will win in their respective markets. Manufacturers must stop pitching their products at the top of the funnel where strong engagement is a differentiator. Instead of pitching products, the winners will engage with the people in their target audience by helping them to be better, relieve a pain point, or enjoy a passion more. Helping them without pitching your product cultivates top-of-mind-awareness (TOMA), credibility, and reciprocity. But there's a catch to being successful. You have to be the first mover, or at least the first in your market to use the New Way to its fullest advantage. The New Way has been tested and proven to work in highly competitive manufacturing markets.

Book Market Entry into the USA

Download or read book Market Entry into the USA written by Ralf Drews and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-08-05 with total page 139 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book connects a buying psychology driven by American beliefs and values with a company’s go-to market strategy, the goal being to sensitize readers to how the cultural values of a particular country or region can impact the business environment. The book also addresses the reasons behind these differences and therefore begins with a detailed cultural comparison of the United States and Europe, and assessments of how these characteristics impact their respective markets and customer behavior differently. Another aspect that sets this book apart is that it argues for sound decision-making processes as the first priority in any international business strategy. Readers are provided detailed insights into the variables a European company needs to understand before it makes its “go/no-go” decision, along with the tools needed to evaluate the probability of success and the risks of going to market. Once a company decides to enter the US market, the book then offers a highly customer-centric approach to developing and executing an effective market strategy.

Book Harley Davidson Marketing Strategy in the US and China

Download or read book Harley Davidson Marketing Strategy in the US and China written by and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2023-09-07 with total page 21 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seminar paper from the year 2021 in the subject Business economics - Offline Marketing and Online Marketing, grade: 1.3, University of Warwick (Business School (WBS)), course: Marketing in an International Environment, language: English, abstract: Founded in 1903 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Harley Davidson has grown into an international company, with over 1,400 independent dealers in more than 100 countries. The motorcycles are renowned as the ultimate biker status symbol. Harley doesn't just sell motorcycles, but also the experience and the idea of freedom and passion. Although the Asia-Pacific region was a key market between 2012 and 2017, the company saw a decline in motorcycle sales in 2018-2019, particularly in Canada. The assignment focuses on Harley-Davidson's marketing strategies in the US and China. In China, Harley faces challenges such as government restrictions and a market dominated by domestic brands. Nevertheless, demand is rising in urban areas. In the US, the company struggles to engage a younger audience. The marketing strategies in the US and China differ in some aspects, though both markets pursue a premium price approach. In the US, Harley positions itself as a unique product, whereas in China, the luxury aspect takes precedence. Recommendations include adjustments in marketing to better address both the Chinese and American markets, such as developing smaller motorcycles for younger buyers.
