Book Land Surface Remote Sensing in Agriculture and Forest

Download or read book Land Surface Remote Sensing in Agriculture and Forest written by Nicolas Baghdadi and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2016-09-15 with total page 498 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The environmental and economic importance of monitoring forests and agricultural resources has allowed remote sensing to be increasingly in the development of products and services responding to user needs. This volume presents the main applications in remote sensing for agriculture and forestry, including the primary soil properties, the estimation of the vegetation's biophysical variables, methods for mapping land cover, the contribution of remote sensing for crop and water monitoring, and the estimation of the forest cover properties (cover dynamic, height, biomass). This book, part of a set of six volumes, has been produced by scientists who are internationally renowned in their fields. It is addressed to students (engineers, Masters, PhD), engineers and scientists, specialists in remote sensing applied to agriculture and forestry.Through this pedagogical work, the authors contribute to breaking down the barriers that hinder the use of radar imaging techniques. - Provides clear and concise descriptions of modern remote sensing methods - Explores the most current remote sensing techniques with physical aspects of the measurement (theory) and their applications - Provides chapters on physical principles, measurement, and data processing for each technique described - Describes optical remote sensing technology, including a description of acquisition systems and measurement corrections to be made

Book Mapping Monitoring and Modeling Land and Water Resources

Download or read book Mapping Monitoring and Modeling Land and Water Resources written by Pravat Kumar Shit and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-06-28 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The wide range of challenges in studying Earth system dynamics due to uncertainties in climate change and complex interference from human activities is creating difficulties in managing land and water resources and ensuring their sustainable use. Mapping, Monitoring, and Modeling Land and Water Resources brings together real-world case studies accurately surveyed and assessed through spatial modeling. The book focuses on the effectiveness of combining remote sensing, geographic information systems, and R. The use of open source software for different spatial modeling cases in various fields, along with the use of remote sensing and geographic information systems, will aid researchers, students, and practitioners to understand better the phenomena and the predictions by future analyses for problem-solving and decision-making.

Book Global Soil Organic Carbon Map GSOCmap Version 1 5

Download or read book Global Soil Organic Carbon Map GSOCmap Version 1 5 written by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and published by Food & Agriculture Org.. This book was released on 2020-07-01 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: GSOCmap is the first global soil organic carbon map ever produced through a consultative and participatory process involving member countries, which makes this map totally new and unique. In fact, the map was prepared by member countries, under the guidance of the Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils and the Global Soil Partnership Secretariat. Countries agreed on the methodology to produce the map and were trained on modern tools and methodologies to develop national maps. The Global Soil Partnership then gathered all national maps to produce the final product, ensuring a thorough harmonization process. This technical report is a companion report to the GSOCmap V1.5. It presents methodologies and process of compiling the Global Soil Organic Carbon Map.
