Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Many Celebrities and a Few Others: A Bundle of Reminiscences As a beginning, let me recall the famous old seaport in which he was born. Whole neighbourhoods of that town were inhabited by sea-faring people and the commonest talk was about ships. The granite basins of the docks, the finest in the world, were full of them in shapes that steam was only beginning to displace: clippers and other full-rigged craft, barques and barkentines, brigs and brigantines, trafficking with the ends of the earth, all smelling of tea, coffee, palm oil, sugar, spice, hides, cocoanuts, cotton, spruce or pine. They came in on an eighteen-foot tide and departed on the flood with their crews singing chanties as they trotted round the old-fashioned, handle-barred capstan. The steam windlass was in the future, and the captain, and the men too, would have looked upon the auxiliary engine with as much disdain as upon kid gloves and scented handkerchiefs. Gales were always blowing and when the moon was out it appeared to be whirling like a silvered cannon ball through the amber and dove-coloured clouds. Book Celebrity Families

Download or read book Celebrity Families written by Sheila Stewart and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2015-02-03 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sometimes celebrity families seem to have it all. Whether they're actors, famous athletes, major politicians, or royalty, these families usually have money and a glamorous lifestyle. At least that's the perception. In reality, celebrity families have a lot of the same issues other families have, along with a few others. Celebrity families have to deal with constantly living in the public eye, having their every move studied and judged. The non-famous family members have to live in the shadow of their famous parents, children, or siblings, which can often mean being compared to them or having people pretend to be friends just to get close to those family members. The stories in this book tell about a few of these celebrity families and how fame has affected their lives and the lives of their family members.

This book was released on 2007-02-06 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What makes you go Grrr? Is it the celebrity who is under the delusion that you actually care about how he or she wants you to vote, when all you really care about from the Hollywood set is how they will entertain you? Is it that Paris Hilton is dressing your daughters, Tom Cruise is having kids out of wedlock, and Terrell Owens is putting the "I" in team?
