Book excerpt: As a result of the Navy's need to advance the U.S. industrial modernization and technology base, this document was developed to accentuate the Naval Ocean Systems Center (NOSC) Manufacturing Technology (ManTech) and Industrial Modernization Incentives Program (IMIP). Goals of the NOSC ManTech and IMIP programs are to develop new and improved processes, methods, techniques, and equipments to enhance our industrial-base capability, ensure quality and affordability of command, control, communications and ocean surveillance systems, enable the transition of Research and Development (R and D) from development to production, and expedite the implementation of advanced methods and technologies in defense production facilities. The Manufacturing and Computer Engineering Technology Branch personnel directly contributed to the concept and development of this report.
