This book was released on 2018-12-20 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Here, analyses of a questionnaire survey and field study of major UK manufacturing companies together provide a simulating portrayal of AMT investment decision making and have been expanded upon with a model using fuzzy set theory.

Book Japanese Manufacturing Investment in Europe

Download or read book Japanese Manufacturing Investment in Europe written by Roger Strange and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2002-09-11 with total page 505 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Japanese manufacturing investment in the European Community has grown dramatically over the last twenty years. At first, instances of investment were few, concentrated in a small number of industrial sectors. But since the mid-1980's there has been a surge of investment in a much wider range of industries. This volume details the growth of Japanese manufacturing investment in Europe in fourteen industrial sectors. The impact of Japanese competition and direct investment on European industries is considered in the context of the emergence of the three major trading blocs: the United States, Japan and the EC. Roger Strange concludes by making important policy recommendations, and arguing for the need for a new theoretical framework for assessing the political economy of foreign direct investment.

This book was released on 2013-04-02 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study analyses the causes of British manufacturing investment overseas, focusing primarily on the period from the mid 1960s to the mid 1980s. During these years there were significant changes in UK direct investment and this book represented the first major analysis of these changes based on detailed case studies of British international firms. The early chapters assess the available statistical evidence and the theories of overseas investment that had hitherto been put forward. The authors emphasize the need for recognizing the dynamic and varied nature of firms and the relevance of their historical development in order to understand business decision-making. Through a detailed consideration of the activities of a large sample of companies, the book explains why they manufacture abroad and assesses the overall consequences for the British economy of its overseas investment.

Book The Income Factory An Investor s Guide to Consistent Lifetime Returns

Download or read book The Income Factory An Investor s Guide to Consistent Lifetime Returns written by Steven Bavaria and published by McGraw Hill Professional. This book was released on 2020-02-28 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The proven, all-weather investing strategy that delivers long-term, consistent returns The most common investing approach today—one that values “growth” over all else—can be ineffective and counterproductive for many investors, not to mention needlessly stressful. Now, one of Seeking Alpha’s most popular writers, Steven Bavaria, provides a groundbreaking alternative that will see you through all markets—up, down, and sideways. The Income Factory shows how to build an income stream that increases solidly and consistently—a result of re-investing and compounding the dividends. And the best part? This income stream actually grows faster during market downturns than during flat or rising market periods. The Income Factory sheds light on: • Why “high-yield” doesn’t have to mean “high-risk” • How credit investments perform more predictably than equity investments • Why “junk” is a misnomer—and why high-yield debt is safer than most of the stocks investors own • How to grow your wealth steadily without following the markets obsessively Through Bavaria’s strategy, cash income increases year after year at a predictable rate. For example, a 9% yielding portfolio doubles and re-doubles every 8 years. If you’re in for the long haul, an Income Factory lets you achieve your goals and still sleep well at night. Investing does not have to be about picking specific horses and hoping they win the race. An Income Factory achieves its goals by essentially betting on horses to make it around the track and finish the race. Those are easier bets to win, and they don’t require us to be glued to the financial news 24/7.

Book Adjustment Costs Irreversibility and Investment Patterns in African Manufacturing

Download or read book Adjustment Costs Irreversibility and Investment Patterns in African Manufacturing written by Mr.Arne Bigsten and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 1999-07-01 with total page 54 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper examines dynamic patterns of investment in Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Zambia and Zimbabwe, assessing the consistency of those patterns with different adjustment cost structures. Using survey data on manufactured firms, we document the importance of zero investment episodes and lumpy investment. The proportion of firms experiencing large investment spikes is significant in explaining aggregate manufacturing investment. Taken together, evidence from descriptive statistics, average investment regressions modeling the response to capital imbalance, and transition data analysis indicate that irreversibility is an important factor considered by firms when making investment plans. The picture is not unanimous however, and some explanations for the mixed results are proposed.
