Este libro reúne gran cantidad de técnicas y estrategias para el consumo moderado y responsable de las drogas. Se proponen protocolos de intervención para aumentar el control de las drogas, su uso moderado, que pueden ser usados por profesionales de la salud e investigadores. También se detalla la aplicación de procedimientos de sugestión, como la Hipnosis y la Terapia de Auto-Regulación (enfocada al control y domino de las sugestiones) para reproducir los efectos de las drogas. Las potenciales aplicaciones de este procedimiento son evidentes. Podemos utilizar la reproducción mental de los efectos de drogas para reducir el consumo, al sustituir, en muchas ocasiones, la evocación mental de sus efectos por el consumo real. Por otra parte, podemos también utilizar este procedimiento como coadyuvante para las terapias de mejora del estado de ánimo y las emociones, para lo que se ofrece también un protocolo de intervención. Las técnicas aquí presentadas pueden ser también utilizadas por los propios consumidores de drogas de manera autónoma. Por último, con todo el material aquí presentado se pretende también estimular la investigación científica en esta área, aun incipiente pero apasionante, del control de las drogas, de manera que los protocolos pueden ser utilizados directamente o bien adaptados a las necesidades y objetivos de los investigadores.
