Book Naval Aviation IMA Repair Capability

Download or read book Naval Aviation IMA Repair Capability written by Dean R. Merrill and published by . This book was released on 1983 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis studies intermediate repair planning at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) level. Maintenance information system initiatives (Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS)/Naval Aviation Logistics Data Analysis (NALDA)/AIMD Performance Management System (APMS) and an analytical 'systems' model (Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)) are examined. The study concludes that information system initiatives provide the performance measurement orientation and information processing base required in support of NAVAIR 'tactical' planning. It further concludes that complex logistics problems can be 'modeled' through the AHP. AHP is a promising technique for integrating performance information and expert opinion into a hierarchical, multiple objective planning structure. It provides a method for determining resource requirement priorities in support of readiness goals. The study recommends that research be expanded to include development of a NAVAIR decision support framework utilizing the AHP.

Download or read book Technical Manual written by Naval Air Systems Command and published by . This book was released on 2018-10-19 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Technical Order (TO) 1-1A-1 is one of a series of manuals prepared to assist personnel engaged in the general maintenance and repair of military aircraft. This manual covers general aircraft structural repair. This is a Joint-Service manual and some information may be directed at one branch of the service and not the other. Wherever the text of the manual refers to Air Force technical orders for supportive information, refer to the comparable Navy documents (see Table 1). The satisfactory performance of aircraft requires continuous attention to maintenance and repair to maintain aircraft structural integrity. Improper maintenance and repair techniques can pose an immediate and potential danger. The reliability of aircraft depends on the quality of the design, as well as the workmanship used in making the repairs. It is important that maintenance and repair operations be made according to the best available techniques to eliminate, or at least minimize, possible failures.
