Download or read book Early Havoc written by June Havoc and published by Pickle Partners Publishing. This book was released on 2018-12-01 with total page 563 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: She could dance on her toes when she was eighteen months old (and by heaven she had to!). June Havoc is the famous younger sister of Gypsy Rose Lee, and the daughter of Mrs. Rose Hovick, whose life story was fancifully portrayed by Ethel Merman in the 1959 smash-hit Broadway musical Gypsy. In Early Havoc, June tells quite another story, the inside story of a ruthless, conscienceless, ambition-driven woman who stripped her own daughters of their childhood. Early Havoc is a book that gets beneath the glitter of “show biz,”, and reveals the savage reality, as only the real autobiography of a trouper can. “A remarkable show-business document that might be titled ‘How to Make Good in Spite of Mother, Men and Marathons!’—TIME “Tensely dramatic...these are the years in which a child and a girl were beaten, pounded and shaped into womanhood.”—New York Herald Tribune

Book Introduction to UAV Systems

Download or read book Introduction to UAV Systems written by Paul G. Fahlstrom and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2012-07-11 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been widely adopted in the military world over the last decade and the success of these military applications is increasingly driving efforts to establish unmanned aircraft in non-military roles. Introduction to UAV Systems, 4th edition provides a comprehensive introduction to all of the elements of a complete Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). It addresses the air vehicle, mission planning and control, several types of mission payloads, data links and how they interact with mission performance, and launch and recovery concepts. This book provides enough information to encourage a student to learn more; to provide a specialist with a basic appreciation of the technical issues that drive other parts of the system and interact with their specialty; or to help a program manager understand system-level tradeoffs and know what questions to ask. Key features: Comprehensive overview of all elements of a UAS and of how they interact. Introduces the underlying concepts of key subsystems. Emphasizes system-integration issues and how they relate to subsystem design choices. Practical discussion of issues informed by lessons learned in UAV programs. Introduction to UAV Systems, 4th edition is written both for newcomers to the subject and for experienced members of the UAV community who desire a comprehensive overview at the system level. As well as being a primary text for an introductory course on UAS or a supplementary text in a course that goes into more depth in one of the individual technologies involved in a UAS, this book is a useful overview for practicing engineers, researchers, managers, and consultants interested in UAV systems.

Book New Developments in Diagnostic Virology

Download or read book New Developments in Diagnostic Virology written by Peter A. Bachmann and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1983 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The contributions to this book derived from the Seventh Munich Symposium on Microbiology on June 3 and 4, 1981, which was organized by the WHO Centre for Collection and Evaluation of Data on Comparative Virology at the Institute of Medical Microbiology, Infectious and Epidemic Diseases, University of Munich, Federal Repub lic of Germany. One of our principal purposes was to establish a forum at which the comparative aspects of questions of current interest in the field of medical virology could be discussed. In addition to the presentation of recent fmdings in microbiology, our overall aim was to crystallize trends and indicate new directions for future research activities. This book is a topical review of "New Horizons in Diagnostic Virology." Every one interested in virology is aware of the tremendous progress made in viral diagnostic techniques during recent years and the growing importance of viral diagnosis in human and veterinary medicine. There is yet another step that diagnostic virology has to take: the introduction on a routine basis of methods of molecular biology into the viral diagnostic laboratory. The application of monoclonal antibodies and techniques for the chemical and biological identification of proteins, carbohydrates, and enzymes are discussed, as is the introduction of techniques for the characterization of nucleic acids in viral diag nosis.

Book Embedded Memories for Nano Scale VLSIs

Download or read book Embedded Memories for Nano Scale VLSIs written by Kevin Zhang and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-04-21 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kevin Zhang Advancement of semiconductor technology has driven the rapid growth of very large scale integrated (VLSI) systems for increasingly broad applications, incl- ing high-end and mobile computing, consumer electronics such as 3D gaming, multi-function or smart phone, and various set-top players and ubiquitous sensor and medical devices. To meet the increasing demand for higher performance and lower power consumption in many different system applications, it is often required to have a large amount of on-die or embedded memory to support the need of data bandwidth in a system. The varieties of embedded memory in a given system have alsobecome increasingly more complex, ranging fromstatictodynamic and volatile to nonvolatile. Among embedded memories, six-transistor (6T)-based static random access memory (SRAM) continues to play a pivotal role in nearly all VLSI systems due to its superior speed and full compatibility with logic process technology. But as the technology scaling continues, SRAM design is facing severe challenge in mainta- ing suf?cient cell stability margin under relentless area scaling. Meanwhile, rapid expansion in mobile application, including new emerging application in sensor and medical devices, requires far more aggressive voltage scaling to meet very str- gent power constraint. Many innovative circuit topologies and techniques have been extensively explored in recent years to address these challenges.
