Book Dada Dada

Download or read book Dada Dada written by Anuja Khemka and published by Bookbaby. This book was released on 2020-08-31 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dada was written to celebrate the special bond between fathers and their children. The relationship between a father and a child is foundational. Together, they experience the light and cheery moments of life, while also developing a deep emotional relationship. My hope for Dada is that families will read the book together, enjoying its lyrical story and vibrant images. It was written to help parents unwind and destress after a long day at work, to instill happiness in their daily interactions with children, and at the same time, to create and verbalize a solid bond. Dada's illustrations invite children to search and discover the animals hidden on each page, stimulating their brains and helping them learn new things. In my own family, reading time brings us joy and laughs. According to research, it also brings us closer together and supports the mental health and wellness of our children (6, 7). I hope that Dada also brings that memorable, magical moments to your family.

Book The Happiness Project

Download or read book The Happiness Project written by Gretchen Rubin and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2012-06-26 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if you could change your life--without changing your life? Gretchen had a good marriage, two healthy daughters, and work she loved--but one day, stuck on a city bus, she realized that time was flashing by, and she wasn’t thinking enough about the things that really mattered. “I should have a happiness project,” she decided. She spent the next year test-driving the wisdom of the ages, current scientific studies, and lessons from popular culture about how to be happier. Each month, she pursued a different set of resolutions: go to sleep earlier, quit nagging, forget about results, or take time to be silly. Bit by bit, she began to appreciate and amplify the happiness that already existed in her life. Written with humour and insight, Gretchen’s story will inspire you to start your own happiness project. Now in a beautiful, expanded edition, Gretchen offers a wealth of new material including happiness paradoxes and practical tips on many daily matters: being a more light-hearted parent, sticking to a fitness routine, getting your sweetheart to do chores without nagging, coping when you forget someone’s name and more.

Download or read book Co Create written by Steve Martin and published by Business Expert Press. This book was released on 2017-06-21 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Successfully moving an organization forward is a complex task. Historically professional organizations, like the Project Management Institute, have done a fine job of providing best practices and technical tools to support project managers in the field. These tools will continue to be critical in the future. The opportunity now is to add to that body of knowledge by addressing, more completely, the human experience. In reviewing the literature, practitioners and academics alike have noted that committed teams play an important role in creating exceptional project outcomes. What has been missing is the connection between what’s known about employee engagement and commitment, from a general management perspective, and a practical method to integrate that knowledge with project management tools. This book will provide a comprehensive map for project managers to learn about the human experience during a project. It will present specific practices for generating commitment that can be easily incorporated by project managers. The Co-create Model presents a conceptual understanding and a method not currently found in the literature.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "In Sentinel Musicians of the Ethiopian American Diaspora, Kay Kaufman Shelemay shares more than forty years of research among Ethiopian musicians in the midst of a widespread and evolving diaspora. Beginning on the eve of the Ethiopian revolution in 1974 all the way up to the present day, Shelemay follows musicians as some leave Ethiopia for the US, setting up essential networks of support in cities such as New York, Boston, and Washington, DC. Throughout this profound transition, Shelemay shows how Ethiopian musicians serve a critical function in social and political life by both safeguarding community identity and challenging authority within Ethiopian society. She coins the term "sentinel musicians" to express musicians' double capacity to guard culture and guide it through periods of change, transforming the world around them under political pressures and during times of extreme social stress. While musicians held this role in Ethiopian culture long before the revolution began, it has taken on new meanings and contours in the Ethiopian diaspora. Some sentinel musicians have quite literally led the way as they migrated to new locales, establishing transnational networks, founding new institutions, and undertaking numerous initiatives in community building. Ultimately, Shelemay shows that musicians are uniquely positioned to serve this sentinel role as guardians and challengers of cultural heritage"--
