If you have paid attention to the teachings of Moses, Elijah and Paul, you will discover a common feature they have - CONFIDENT ASSURANCE. These folks did not speak like they were guessing. They did not talk like they were presumptuous. They did not speak like they were hesitant. They were confident. They were certain. They had a strong conviction of what they were talking about. They knew it was going to happen as they said it. They had PROOF POWER. They might make comprehensive evidence of their Ministry at any moment. If there is anything a pastor or a Minister of God should scream for, it is, "Lord, I need complete evidence of the Ministry." In an age when the Ministry has nearly lost clear principles and rules, through the power of the Holy spirit, this book will open your eyes to identifying and keeping your calling in life and ministry.

Book Be Faithful 1 2 Timothy Titus Philemon

Download or read book Be Faithful 1 2 Timothy Titus Philemon written by Warren W. Wiersbe and published by David C Cook. This book was released on 2009-01-01 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a fast-paced, technology-based era when drive-thrus, cell phones, laptops, and Internet banking are the norm, it's sometimes hard to fathom that God doesn't appreciate our frail attempts at spiritual shortcuts. Through the pastoral epistles, 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus, with insight from Paul's letter to Philemon as well, Dr. Warren W. Wiersbe illustrates that working for God's Kingdom requires tenacity, never-ceasing prayer, and protective battle gear that only God can provide. In this commentary, you'll grasp the imminent danger of false teachers and, thus, the overwhelming need for godly ministers—people who preach, practice, and progress in the Word. By explaining how a healthy body of believers should operate, Wiersbe uses Paul's words to encourage today's church to stay the course and be faithful!

Book Uplifting the People

    Book Details:
  • Author : Wilson Fallin
  • Publisher : University of Alabama Press
  • Release : 2007-08-17
  • ISBN : 0817315691
  • Pages : 349 pages

Download or read book Uplifting the People written by Wilson Fallin and published by University of Alabama Press. This book was released on 2007-08-17 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Uplifting the People is a history of the Alabama Missionary Baptist State Convention—its origins, churches, associations, conventions, and leaders. Fallin demonstrates that a distinctive Afro-Baptist faith emerged as slaves in Alabama combined the African religious emphasis on spirit possession, soul-travel, and rebirth with the evangelical faith of Baptists. The denomination emphasizes a conversion experience that brings salvation, spiritual freedom, love, joy, and patience, and also stresses liberation from slavery and oppression and highlights the exodus experience. In examining the social and theological development of the Afro-Baptist faith over the course of three centuries, Uplifting the People demonstrates how black Baptists in Alabama used faith to cope with hostility and repression. Fallin reveals that black Baptist churches were far more than places of worship. They functioned as self-help institutions within black communities and served as gathering places for social clubs, benevolent organizations, and political meetings. Church leaders did more than conduct services; they protested segregation and disfranchisement, founded and operated schools, and provided community leaders for the civil rights movement of the mid-20th century. Through black churches, members built banking systems, insurance companies, and welfare structures. Since the gains of the civil rights era, black Baptists have worked to maintain the accomplishments of that struggle, church leaders continue to speak for social justice and the rights of the poor, and churches now house day care and Head Start programs. Uplifting the People also explores the role of women, the relations between black and white Baptists, and class formation within the black church.
