Book Magnetic Particle Inspection

Download or read book Magnetic Particle Inspection written by M.J. Lovejoy and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 459 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the years since this book was first published in 1993 there have very few developments in the technology of magnetic particle inspection apart from improvements in instrumentation which has made the measurement of peak values of time varying currents practicable. The major changes have arisen from health and safety and environmental concerns. These involve chemicals and exposure of personnel to air-borne electromagnetic fields and long wave ultraviolet (UY.A). The changes in the acceptability of certain volatile halogenated hydrocar bons which led to the banning of 1, 1, 1 thichloroethane in 1995 were evident in 1993. The present discussions concerning the emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in general was also current and has now reached a stage where the effects of these deliberations will become evident over the next few years. Concerns over the exposure of personnel to airborne electromagnetic fields has been current for some years as has discussions to the effects of long wave ultraviolet (UY.A) on human skin. Recommendations as to maximum permit ted exposures over periods of time to both of these phenomena have been put forward and will doubtless form the basis of future legislation on the matter. A number of new specifications have appeared notably EN (European) and ISO specifications and some of these are still in preparation. Generally their impact will be minimal since these specifications are largely derived from existing documentation.

Book Electrical and Magnetic Methods of Nondestructive Testing

Download or read book Electrical and Magnetic Methods of Nondestructive Testing written by Jack Blitz and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-11-26 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electrical and Magnetic Methods of Nondestructive Testing presents a comprehensive account of the electrical and magnetic methods of nondestructive testing (NDT). The book begins with a discussion of the requirements for NDT and the criteria for the choice of a given method, followed by a summary of the general theory relating to electrical and magnetic testing techniques. Subsequent chapters discuss specific methods, including eddy current and flux-leakage techniques and microwave and potential drop methods. The appendix provides some useful programs for eddy current impedance analyses. These programs are in BASIC and can be run on PCs.

This book was released on 1964 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This manual has been compiled with the expectation that it will serve as a useful aid and guide, both to the novice and to the more experienced worker in the field of magnetic measurements. Like most of the arts of measuring, the techniques of magnetic measurements have evolved over a considerable period of time from early crude methods to modern practices, coincident with an advancement in the knowledge of the phenomena involved and the perfection of more refined and precise testing equipment.

Book Electrical and Magnetic Methods of Non destructive Testing

Download or read book Electrical and Magnetic Methods of Non destructive Testing written by J. Blitz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is intended to help satisfy an urgent requirement for up-to date comprehensive texts at graduate and senior undergraduate levels on the subjects in non-destructive testing (NDT). The subject matter here is confined to electrical and magnetic methods, with emphasis on the widely used eddy current and magnetic flux leakage methods (including particle inspection), but proper attention is paid to other techniques, such as microwave and AC field applications, which are rapidly growing in importance. Theoretical analyses relating to the various methods are discussed and the depths of presentation are often governed by whether or not the information is readily available elsewhere. Thus, for example, a considerable amount of space is devoted to eddy current theory at what the author considers to be a reasonable standard and not, as usually experienced, in either a too elementary manner or at a level appreciated only by a postgraduate theoretical physicist. The inclusion of the introductory chapter is intended to acquaint the reader with some of the philosophy of NDT and to compare, briefly, the relative performances of the more important methods of testing.

Book Magnetic Particle Inspection Techniques Applications Interviews Q A and Glossary

Download or read book Magnetic Particle Inspection Techniques Applications Interviews Q A and Glossary written by Chetan Singh and published by Chetan Singh. This book was released on with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Magnetic Particle Inspection: Techniques, Applications, Interviews Q&A, and Glossary" is a complete guide to the non-destructive testing technique of magnetic particle inspection (MPI). This NDT book covers the fundamental principles of MPI, including the types of magnetic fields used, the properties of magnetic particles, and the various types of equipment used in the process. In addition to the basic principles, the magnetic particle testing book also covers advanced topics such as selecting the appropriate current for wet or dry inspection, the use of UV light in MPI, and the demagnetization process. To provide readers with practical insights into the application of MPI, the magnetic particle inspection book includes interviews with experts in the field, who share their experiences and tips on best practices. Finally, the book features a glossary of MPI terms and definitions, making it a valuable reference for both beginners and experienced practitioners. Whether you are new to the field of Magnetic testing or looking to enhance your existing knowledge, "Magnetic Particle Inspection: Techniques, Applications, Interviews Q&A, and Glossary" is an essential resource that will help you develop a comprehensive understanding of this important non-destructive testing technique.
