Annunziata. Sappiamo per via documentaria che il Sarto ne divenne membro il 2 febbraio 1529, data che dovrebbe fissare il terminus post quem per la realizzazione del dipinto, combinandosi inoltre, presumibilmente, con la decorazione di un tabernacolo-reliquiario (destinato a contenere un venerato frammento della testa del Santo rinvenuto nel 1451 e di proprietà della Compagnia) eseguita nello stesso 1529 da Andrea di Cosimo Feltrini.
