Download or read book Madam President 2 written by Robert Wilson and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2020-12-22 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robert loves watching Fox News, NCIS, Rush Limbaugh, and cops. He receives lots of junk mail. Robert picked this title because we need a good woman for president, not Hillary Clinton or Elizabeth Warren. He thought it would be nice to have a Madam President for the people, not against the people, with a strong mind, is intelligent, and has a great sense of humor as displayed in the book. Denise James fits all categories. She knows when to be strong, willing to take chances; she is sensitive, knows when to back off, and accepts criticism of her decisions. It takes a special person to do what she has accomplished as president. After delivering four babies and maintaining the position of president of the United States, that takes courage beyond the normal person. A woman may not ever make president. If she does, she has to be like Denise James, or she is not worth a damn. As you have read, I have trouble writing English. Denise speaks several foreign languages, plus English.

Book Madame President

Download or read book Madame President written by Helene Cooper and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2017-03-07 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: BEST BOOKS of 2017 SELECTION by * THE WASHINGTON POST * NEW YORK POST * The harrowing, but triumphant story of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, leader of the Liberian women’s movement, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, and the first democratically elected female president in African history. When Ellen Johnson Sirleaf won the 2005 Liberian presidential election, she demolished a barrier few thought possible, obliterating centuries of patriarchal rule to become the first female elected head of state in Africa’s history. Madame President is the inspiring, often heartbreaking story of Sirleaf’s evolution from an ordinary Liberian mother of four boys to international banking executive, from a victim of domestic violence to a political icon, from a post-war president to a Nobel Peace Prize winner. Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist and bestselling author Helene Cooper deftly weaves Sirleaf’s personal story into the larger narrative of the coming of age of Liberian women. The highs and lows of Sirleaf’s life are filled with indelible images; from imprisonment in a jail cell for standing up to Liberia’s military government to addressing the United States Congress, from reeling under the onslaught of the Ebola pandemic to signing a deal with Hillary Clinton when she was still Secretary of State that enshrined American support for Liberia’s future. Sirleaf’s personality shines throughout this riveting biography. Ultimately, Madame President is the story of Liberia’s greatest daughter, and the universal lessons we can all learn from this “Oracle” of African women.

Book Dear Madam President

Download or read book Dear Madam President written by Jennifer Palmieri and published by Hachette UK. This book was released on 2018-03-27 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE NUMBER ONE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER DEAR MADAM PRESIDENT is an empowering letter from former White House Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri to the first woman president, and by extension, to all women working to succeed in any field. By using lessons learned during her experiences with Hillary Clinton, President Obama, and Elizabeth Edwards - to name a few - Palmieri through each chapter creates a forward-thinking framework of inspirational and practical advice for all women everywhere - from boardrooms to living rooms - who are determined to seize control of their lives, their workplaces, and their country. DEAR MADAM PRESIDENT will turn the results of the 2016 election into something incredibly empowering for future female leaders and independent thinkers everywhere. We haven't wrapped our heads around what it should look like for a woman to be in the job of President. Our only models are men. This of course was seen during the Hillary Clinton campaign, and no one knows this better than Jennifer Palmieri. While wildly disappointed by the outcome of the election, Palmieri optimistically argues in the book that the Clinton candidacy and all she experienced on the campaign trail - confusion, admiration, hate, love, acceptance, rejection - can now open the country up to reimagining women in leadership roles. And that is what Palmieri takes on in this book - redefining expectations for women looking to lead and creating a blueprint for women candidates and leaders to follow.

Book excerpt: Scholars and pundits alike have spent more than a little time speculating about why Hillary Clinton lost the presidency to Donald Trump in 2016. Their conclusions may differ, but few would disagree that Clinton's nomination by a major party changed the political landscape in significant ways-nor that the results of the 2016 election provoked a large number of women to run for office at all levels of government. The genie is out of the bottle. In this context, the authors of Madam President? critically analyze the barriers facing women on the road to the White House-from gender stereotyping to biased media coverage, the conflation of masculinity and the presidency, gendered conceptions of leadership, and more.

Book excerpt: Although the framers gave the president little authority, George Washington knew whatever he did would set precedents for generations of future leaders. To ensure their ability to defend the nation, he simply ignored the Constitution when he thought it necessary. In a revealing new look at the birth of American government, “Mr. President” describes Washington's presidency in a time of continual crisis, as rebellion and attacks by foreign enemies threatened to destroy this new nation. Constantly weighing preservation of the Union against preservation of individual liberties and states' rights, Washington assumed more power with each crisis. In a series of brilliant but unconstitutional maneuvers he forced Congress to cede control of the four pillars of executive power: war, finance, foreign affairs, and law enforcement. Drawing on rare documents and letters, Unger shows how Washington combined political cunning and sheer genius to seize ever-widening powers, impose law and order while ensuring individual freedom, and shape the office of President of the United States.

However, before Grace can get to the bottom of the story, Sam and Victoria win the presidential election. Not long afterwards, Victoria ascends to the office of acting president under the 25th amendment. Grace finally completes her investigation and convinces her editor to release a bombshell of a story. Book Mr President Goes to School

Download or read book Mr President Goes to School written by Rick Walton and published by Peachtree Publishing Company. This book was released on 2015-09 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When the president of the United States has a frustrating day, he decides to go back to the place where he learned the most important lessons of all. Everyone has bad days. Even the president. So when his day starts off badly, Mr. President decides he is in need of a time--out from running the country. Disguising himself, he sneaks out of the White House, hurries down the street to the local school, and enrolls in Mrs. Appletree's class. There Mr. President slides his fingers through globs of finger paint. He spins himself silly on the merry--go--round at recess. He practices saying "please," raising his hand, and taking turns. And he doesn't miss a single beat when everyone does the hokey--pokey. But when he returns to the White House, he is greeted by a panicked secretary of state and two angry world leaders on the brink of war. Fortunately, Mr. President recalls what he learned in Mrs. Appletree's class, and he comes up with just the right approach to avoid an international crisis. Children will delight in Rick Walton's laugh--out--loud story and its over--the--top take on conflict resolution. Brad Sneed's watercolor illustrations capture the humor of the story with their exaggerated, outsized characters and playfully distorted compositions.
