Book Economic Growth and Distribution

Download or read book Economic Growth and Distribution written by Neri Salvadori and published by Edward Elgar Publishing. This book was released on 2006-01-01 with total page 458 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Economic Growth and Distribution isolates and compares the logical structures and methodological underpinnings underlying the relationship between economic growth and distribution. It carries out an in-depth analysis of a wide range of issues connected with growth theory considered from different theoretical perspectives. Its uniqueness is derived from the original contributions by a number of scholars of different persuasions; some within the mainstream and others from Keynesian-Kaleckian-Sraffian positions. The book deals with a wide variety of research topics concerning economic growth and distribution, such as the transition from the epoch of Malthusian stagnation to the contemporary era of modern economic growth; comparisons among the classical tradition, modern theory, and heterodox models; problems of policy; dynamics and business cycles; the role on institutions.

Book The Dynamics of the Price Structure and the Business Cycle

Download or read book The Dynamics of the Price Structure and the Business Cycle written by Cristina Nardi Spiller and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2003-06-12 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By exploring the price dynamics and business cycle of the Italian economy with reference to the most important international events, this text sheds new light on the country's current situation. Using a long-term analytical framework underpinned by principal theoretical approaches, the analysis places particular emphasis on price dynamics. The text begins with the country's post-war difficulties and then covers the boom-and-bust period of the "Italian miracle", before moving onto the lasting inflationary process of the 70s and 80s, and finally the financial crisis of the 90s and the beginning of the new century. The book also investigates the positive and negative aspects of policy measures. An important implication of this approach is that it assesses the different evolutionary aspects of the Italian economic structure, which in turn gives way to an analysis of the dynamic behaviour of policy makers and social partners.

Book Panfletos liberales III

Download or read book Panfletos liberales III written by Carlos Rodríguez Braun and published by Editorial Almuzara. This book was released on 2013-06 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book A Course in Modern Macroeconomics

Download or read book A Course in Modern Macroeconomics written by Pablo Kurlat and published by . This book was released on 2020-01-14 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book started as a collection of my teaching notes for the ECON 52 course that I taught at Stanford University. The objective of that course, and of this book, is to introduce students to the ideas and way of thinking of modern macroeconomics in a unified way that is accessible with a moderate amount of maths. Modern macroeconomics emphasizes explicit microeconomic foundations and general equilibrium analysis, combined with various kinds of constraints and market imperfections. When preparing the class I thought none of the existing textbooks conveyed this in a way that I liked, so I prepared my own notes, which then grew into this book. While mostly self-contained, the book is probably most useful to students who are familiar with the basics of multivariable calculus and have taken a calculus-based microeconomics class.

Book Contemporary Macroeconomics

Download or read book Contemporary Macroeconomics written by Vasilii Erokhin and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-07-01 with total page 945 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers a lot of ground in contemporary macroeconomics, from fundamental theories such as market structures and equilibrium to emerging concepts that reflect the most critical challenges of modern times, including economic slowdowns, the resilience of public health systems, digitalization, environmental footprints, and many more. The COVID-19 outbreak has aggravated the recurrent problems of poverty and income inequality between countries, food insecurity and hunger, unemployment, and social disorders that have resulted in the exacerbation of political, economic, and trade tensions between countries. In view of the damaging consequences of the pandemic for the entire global economy, the book examines how existing macroeconomic tools and policies could be adapted to the new normal to ensure sustainable post-pandemic development and growth. The main text is interspersed with real-life illustrations and cases that demonstrate practical implications of the concepts under study. This makes the reading relevant and active. Every chapter starts with learning objectives and ends with a series of questions and quizzes that enable easier reinforcement of the course content. This book is written mainly for students, but it would be much useful to the broader public audience, including postgraduates, researchers, and business people who will be able to learn all recent updates about macroeconomics and the post-pandemic perspectives of the global economy.
