Book Development Skills and Concepts through Educational Technology

Download or read book Development Skills and Concepts through Educational Technology written by Dr. Anita Sharma and published by K.K. Publications. This book was released on 2021-09-10 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Development Skills and Concepts through Educational Technology Skills are involved in construing the meaning of symbols used for conveying the conceptual content. These skills fall under broad categories namely literacy, numeracy and graphicacy. Literacy includes understanding terminology and explanations using words. Numeracy includes understanding mathematical notations for communication using numbers. Teacher knowledge of appropriate performance strategies for a learning activity is also required for guiding different work. For example, the teacher needs to know why and when to ask students to reconsider their choice of the numerical scale while plotting a graph. To gradually develop this skill, graphs involving one nominal variable, e.g., months of the year, have been found as good starting points for facilitating students to focus on numerical issues along a single dimension. Technology in education is most simply and comfortably defined as an array of tools that might prove helpful in advancing student learning and may be measured in how and why individuals behave. Educational Technology relies on a broad definition of the word “technology.” Technology can refer to material objects of use to humanity, such as machines or hardware, but it can also encompass broader themes, including systems, methods of organization, and techniques. Hope this book will be useful to students as a reference book and will be a priced collection for their own library. Contents: • Distance Education and Curriculum Technology • Attitude of Experimentation • Information Technology and Agriculture • Use the Internet to Teach Information Literacy • Manage Classroom Using Technology • Confidence-Based Learning, Sleep-Learning, Over-Learning, Observational Learning, Cooperative Learning and Operant Conditioning • Government Investment in Educational Technology, Methodology, Research and Development • Higher Education in Science and Engineering: An American Perspective on Educational Technology • Use of Distance Education in Non-formal Education: An Indian Perspective on Research in Distance Education

Book Intelligent Decision Systems in Large Scale Distributed Environments

Download or read book Intelligent Decision Systems in Large Scale Distributed Environments written by Pascal Bouvry and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-06-19 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the most challenging issues for the intelligent decision systems is to effectively manage the large-scale complex distributed environments such as computational clouds, grids, ad hoc and P2P networks, under the different types of users, their relations, and real-world uncertainties. In this context the IT resources and services usually belong to different owners (institutions, enterprises, or individuals) and are managed by different administrators. These administrators conform to different sets of rules and configuration directives, and can impose different usage policies on the system users. Additionally, uncertainties are presented in various types of information that are incomplete, imprecise, fragmentary or overloading, which hinders the full and precise determination of the evaluation criteria, their subsequent and selection, the assignment scores, and eventually the final integrated decision result. This book presents new ideas, analysis, implementations and evaluation of the next generation intelligent techniques for solving complex decision problems in large-scale distributed systems. In 15 chapters several important formulations of the decision problems in heterogeneous environments are identified and a review of the recent approaches, from game theoretical models and computational intelligent techniques, such as genetic, memetic and evolutionary algorithms, to intelligent multi-agent systems and networking are presented. We believe that this volume will serve as a reference for the students, researchers and industry practitioners working in or are interested in joining interdisciplinary works in the areas of intelligent decision systems using emergent distributed computing paradigms. It will also allow newcomers to grasp key concerns and potential solutions on the selected topics.

Book Precision agriculture 07

Download or read book Precision agriculture 07 written by J.V. Stafford and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2023-08-28 with total page 876 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "With ever-increasing pressures on world agriculture in both economic and environmental terms, application of the concept of precision agriculture is one way of enabling farmers and producers to cope. ‘Doing arable agriculture and horticulture more precisely’ means that the use of inputs is optimised, crop yield and quality are maximised and leakage of agro-chemicals and fertilisers to the environment is minimised. This publication contains papers presented at the 6th European Conference on Precision Agriculture. The papers reflect the wide range of disciplines encompassed by precision agriculture, including: soil physics, crop physiology, agronomy, IT, agricultural technology, sensor technology, remote sensing, geostatistics and environmental science. The wide range of research topics reported will be a valuable resource for researchers, advisors, teachers and professionals in agriculture long after the conference has finished. Peer-reviewed papers from the 3rd European Conference on Precision Livestock Farming are presented in a companion proceedings, Precision livestock farming ’07."
