Book Effects of Reynolds Number Variation on the Stability and Axial force Characteristics of a 0 0226 scale Model of the C 5a Aircraft at Mach Numbers 0 700 0 767 and 0 785

Download or read book Effects of Reynolds Number Variation on the Stability and Axial force Characteristics of a 0 0226 scale Model of the C 5a Aircraft at Mach Numbers 0 700 0 767 and 0 785 written by J. A. Black and published by . This book was released on 1967 with total page 41 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tests were conducted in the 16-ft transonic tunnel to determine the effects of Reynolds number variation on the aerodynamic characteristics of a 0.0226-scale model of the C-5A aircraft with fixed and free transition. The authors report that Reynolds number variation from 2.1 to 4.2 million had little effect on the lift and pitching-moment coefficients and generally caused a decrease in drag coefficient.

Book A Modern Course in Aeroelasticity

Download or read book A Modern Course in Aeroelasticity written by Howard C. Curtiss Jr. and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 575 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Areader who achieves a substantial command of the material con tained in this book should be able to read with understanding most of the literature in the field. Possible exceptions may be certain special aspects of the subject such as the aeroelasticity of plates and sheIls or the use of electronic feedback control to modify aeroelastic behavior. The first author has considered the former topic in aseparate volume. The latter topic is also deserving of aseparate volume. In the first portion of the book the basic physical phenomena of divergence, control surface eflectiveness, flutter and gust response of aeronautical vehicles are treated. As an indication of the expanding scope of the field, representative examples are also drawn from the non aeronautical literature. To aid the student who is encountering these phenomena for the first time, each is introduced in the context of a simple physical model and then reconsidered systematicaIly in more compli cated models using more sophisticated mathematics.

Book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences

Download or read book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences written by Wade H. Shafer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 411 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and disseminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) * at Purdue University in 1 957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the activity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all con cerned if the printing and distribution of the volumes were handled by an interna tional publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Cor poration of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 32 (thesis year 1987) a total of 12,483 theses titles from 22 Canadian and 176 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for these titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. While Volume 32 reports theses submitted in 1987, on occasion, certain univer sities do report theses submitted in previous years but not reported at the time.

Book Unsteady Transonic Aerodynamics

Download or read book Unsteady Transonic Aerodynamics written by David Nixon and published by . This book was released on 1989 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume complements Transonic aerodynamics (v.81 in the series) which is concerned with steady flow. This is the only book to address the subject of unsteady transonic aerodynamics, a field much different from steady aerodynamics. The most pronounced difference is the complex shock wave motions
