Book MacArthur s Millennial Manifesto

Download or read book MacArthur s Millennial Manifesto written by Samuel E. Waldron and published by Reformed Baptist Academic Press. This book was released on 2008-05 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the 2007 Shepherds' Conference, Pastor John MacArthur delivered a controversial message entitled, "Why Every Self-Respecting Calvinist is a Premillennialist". In this book, Dr. Sam Waldron addresses the assertions of MacArthur historically, exegetically and theologically. Although his arguments are rigorous, the entire tenor of the book is level-headed and irenic. This "friendly response" grants modern day Amillennialists the opportunity to thoughtfully engage their Dispensational brethren.

Book excerpt: I started writing this book as a way to figure somethings out for myself; I was lost. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized I wasn't alone. My whole generation seemed lost. Millennials grew up in the best time ever to be a kid. The 90's were infused with a sense of optimism. There was no specter of nuclear war or vast political unrest. The biggest political problem revolved around the president getting a blow job. Our cartoons and TV shows depicted a utopia of post-racialism and an aura of general happiness. The world seemed to be spinning towards bigger and better things. We were Toys R Us Kids - we never wanted to grow up. We always knew it sucked being an adult and we were right. Our naïve '90s childhood was smashed on 9/11. Many of us graduated from college right around the 2008 financial crisis. In our 20s and 30s, we have seen the rise of extreme political polarization and tribalism, racial protests across the country, and the 2020 pandemic. Life comes at you fast. What will become of the millennial generation? Will millennials be able to overcome denial and accept our current political problems for what they are? Can millennials accept getting older and taking charge? Can we grow up, or will we be Toys R Us Kids forever? The purpose of this book is to encourage millennials to reclaim our youthful optimism by confronting the challenging issues of our time: welfare, abortion, guns, climate change, healthcare, and race. It's time for millennials to take command of our political future.

Book A Modern Exposition of the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith

Download or read book A Modern Exposition of the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith written by Samuel E. Waldron and published by EP BOOKS. This book was released on 2013 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A modern exposition of the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith. In this extensive exposition of the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith, Sam Waldron shows that this work is a masterly statement of the historic Christian faith. His direct and lucid style will help ministers, students and laymen alike to a clear understanding of the Confession and to see its relevance and application to our modern age. Modern Christianity is awash in a flood of doctrinal relativity. Satan and his forces love the imprecision and ambiguity which are rampant in our day. As C. H. Spurgeon observed, 'The arch-enemy of truth has invited us to level our walls and take away our fenced cities'. This exposition was originally published in 1989 to mark the 300th anniversary of the publication of the Second London Confession, which also became known as the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith. Today, reformed Baptists world-wide hold this Confession in high esteem and many churches continue to regard it as their official statement of faith. Included in this publication is a helpful introduction on the legitimacy and use of confessions by Dr R. P. Martin, currently Pastor of Emmanuel Reformed Baptist Church in Seattle, Washington.

These are difficult words to pronounce and even harder concepts to understand. A Case for Amillennialism is an accessible look at the crucial theological question of the millennium in the context of contemporary evangelicalism. Recognizing that eschatology--the study of future things--is a complicated and controversial subject, Kim Riddlebarger provides definitions of key terms and a helpful overview of various viewpoints. He examines related biblical topics as a backdrop to understanding the subject and discusses important passages of Scripture that bear upon the millennial question. Regardless of their stance, readers will find helpful insight as Riddlebarger evaluates the main problems facing each of the major millennial positions and cautions readers to be aware of the spiraling consequences of each view.

Book American Manifesto

Download or read book American Manifesto written by Bob Garfield and published by Catapult. This book was released on 2021-01-12 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you fear for our democracy? Are you ready to throw in the towel? Don't! This is your guidebook to reassembling our hyperpolarized American society in six (not-so-easy) steps, written by the cohost of WNYC's On the Media. As is often observed, Trump is a symptom of a virus that has been incubating for at least fifty years. But not often observed is where the virus is imbedded: in the psychic core of our identity. In American Manifesto: Saving Democracy from Villains, Vandals, and Ourselves, popular media personality Bob Garfield examines the tragic confluence of the American preoccupation with identity and the catastrophic disintegration of the mass media. Garfield investigates how we've gotten to this moment when our identity is threatened by both the left and the right, when e pluribus unum is no longer a source of national pride, and why, when looking through this lens of identity, the rise of Trumpism is no surprise. Overlaying this crisis is the rise of the Facebook-Google duopoly and the filter bubble of social media, where identity is insular and immutable. But fear not! WNYC's On the Media cohost Garfield has ideas about how we may counter the forces of fragmentation—the manifesto itself: six steps to take to reassemble our fractured society. A quick, fascinating read, American Manifesto offers not only a vision of a country in extremis, but also a plan for how to address the ways in which our democracy is imperiled. Provocative, profound, and sometimes hilariously profane, American Manifesto is a call to action like no other.

Book More of the End Times Made Simple

Download or read book More of the End Times Made Simple written by Samuel E. Waldron and published by . This book was released on 2009-12 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the second installment in Dr. Waldrons groundbreaking work, The End Times Made Simple, in which he deftly dismantled the interpretive view that dispensationalists have of prophecy in general. This book goes a step further, arguing that there are consequences to our eschatological (i.e., End Times) views. The reader will find powerful and cogent arguments for a strictly biblical hermeneutic, free from forced interpretations and presuppositions that have little to do with the actual Word of God. Some of the topics covered are how we approach biblical interpretation in general and prophetic interpretation in particular, and whether there is a distinction between Israel and the church, or is the church the Israel of God. This book will change the way the reader approaches the great prophecies of the Bible, and will give the reader a renewed appreciation for the Lord Jesus Christ and His plan for His church.

Book The Free Offer of the Gospel

Download or read book The Free Offer of the Gospel written by John Murray and published by Banner of Truth. This book was released on 2002-02 with total page 30 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is God's attitude towards those who hear the Gospel? Does God desire the salvation of all? In this careful and scholarly work, John Murray (1898 - 1975), formerly Professor of Systematic Theology at Westminster Seminary, surveys the biblical evidence. He shows how the offer of Christ in the gospel demonstrates an ardent desire in the heart of God that all who hear should possess Christ and enjoy the salvation that is in him.

Book The Case for Zionism

Download or read book The Case for Zionism written by Thomas Ice and published by New Leaf Publishing Group. This book was released on 2017-02-20 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The modern state of Israel has been a nation for almost 70 years. When she was formed and fought her early wars of existence, most Bible-believing Christians believed there was a real connection with what was going on in the Middle East and Bible prophecy that predicts an end-time return of the Jews to their land. While support for Israel remains high in most evangelical communities, we are seeing the beginning of a decline, especially among younger evangelicals, who question whether modern Israel really relates to end-time Bible prophecy. The Case for Zionism attempts to bring together biblical, historical, and legal arguments for the legitimacy of the startup nation known as Israel as it: Explains controversies such as antisemitism and Replacement Theology Details the biblical and legal rights of Modern Israel Explores the prophetic nature and future of Israel. In this presentation, Thomas Ice answers many of the contemporary arguments being used by both secular and religious communities to undermine what he believes is the hand of God at work in our own day.

Book The End Times Made Simple

Download or read book The End Times Made Simple written by Samuel E. Waldron and published by . This book was released on 2007-08 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rapture? Pre-Trib? Post-Trib? Millenium? Confused? You should be! In today's Evangelical Christian world, eschatology--or the study of the "last things"--has been turned into a sort of pseudo-science with a plethora of authors claiming to know exactly the scenario of events that are to take place just prior to the Lord Jesus Christ's return. Samuel Waldron's thesis is that there is This Age, and The Age to Come..we will be, or are, in either one or the other. Any "End Times" system that forms a hybrid of these two, or contradicts this simple formula, is unbiblical, and should be rejected.

Book Two Things You Must Do to Be Saved

Download or read book Two Things You Must Do to Be Saved written by Samuel E. Waldron and published by . This book was released on 2013-06-26 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is to help you communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ clearly, accurately and more effectively with others. It is not intended as a Gospel tract, but as a tool for you to be more proficient as an ambassador for Christ and His Kingdom. While it is quite fine to use this book as an evangelistic study, it is more accurate to say that this book is a study guide for those who want to be evangelists. As such, it will help you to be more accurate in your approach to presenting Gospel truth to the unsaved and perhaps give more clarity to those who are saved, but have trouble articulating what it means to be saved. This book will be absolutely invaluable to pastor and layperson alike, both now and in the future, since these eternal verities never change. With Biblical ignorance being epidemic, both in the secular world and among those in the church, this is a timely book that will be essential for the work of true evangelism!
