Similar to the 7 Universal Laws, the 7 Codes of Maa allowed the Kamitic people to see science and magic as the same thing, and work them both. In this book you will learn how to discover your purpose in life, reconnect to your ancestral past, create sacred spaces, and foretell the future using ordinary objects found in nature in order to change your dreams into a reality.

Book A Gentle Introduction to the American Invitational Mathematics Exam

Download or read book A Gentle Introduction to the American Invitational Mathematics Exam written by Scott A. Annin and published by The Mathematical Association of America. This book was released on 2015-11-16 with total page 399 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a celebration of mathematical problem solving at the level of the high school American Invitational Mathematics Examination. There is no other book on the market focused on the AIME. It is intended, in part, as a resource for comprehensive study and practice for the AIME competition for students, teachers, and mentors. After all, serious AIME contenders and competitors should seek a lot of practice in order to succeed. However, this book is also intended for anyone who enjoys solving problems as a recreational pursuit. The AIME contains many problems that have the power to foster enthusiasm for mathematics – the problems are fun, engaging, and addictive. The problems found within these pages can be used by teachers who wish to challenge their students, and they can be used to foster a community of lovers of mathematical problem solving! There are more than 250 fully-solved problems in the book, containing examples from AIME competitions of the 1980’s, 1990’s, 2000’s, and 2010’s. In some cases, multiple solutions are presented to highlight variable approaches. To help problem-solvers with the exercises, the author provides two levels of hints to each exercise in the book, one to help stuck starters get an idea how to begin, and another to provide more guidance in navigating an approach to the solution.

Book excerpt: This story is about reconnection with one’s roots, culture, and upbringing. Joy, the protagonist of the story hails from an Indian bengali family and is settled in Denmark with his mother, wife Shree and daughter named Misti. Though he belongs to a zamindar (landlords) family in Bengal, he is almost disconnected with the bengali culture because of the preoccupations and the distance from the culture and the homeland. He is often filled with guilt that he is not giving enough exposure of bengali culture to his daughter and she may face identity crisis in future. Don’t worry, this story is not about this common issue faced by most of the nonresidential Indians, irrespective of their culture. This story is about turn of events that leads Joy to return to his roots and reconnect with his culture. It often so happens with all of us that because of frequent adaptation to our surroundings and people around us, we change so much that we often forget or suppress our true self. But that is securely preserved in some remote corner of our soft heart, waiting to resurface at an opportune moment. The joy of expressing our true self is the joy we all long for… Let’s see ourselves how that happens with our main character of this book…JOY

Book Youth and Experiences of Ageing among Maa

Download or read book Youth and Experiences of Ageing among Maa written by Paul Spencer and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2014-01-01 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Maa of East Africa are a cluster of related pastoral peoples who share a social organization based on age. This groups men into life-long cohorts from their initiation in youth, regardless of family wealth. Historically, this type of pre-market society has been described in every continent, but East Africa provides the principal surviving region of age-based societies, among whom the Maasai are the best known. In this volume, comparison between three branches of Maa highlights different aspects of their society: the dynamics of power with age and gender among the Maasai, of ritual performance and belief among the Samburu, and of historical change among the Chamus. Here it is argued that understanding another culture can only be approached through models derived in the first instance from the representations conveyed by members of that culture. The social anthropologist may then elaborate these images through the choice of analytical parallels, even extending to other disciplines and personal experience. Each chapter in this volume views Maa institutions through a different lens, exploring models relevant to a comprehensive analysis of their social life.

This book contains the questions from the finals taking place between 1986 and 1999 inclusive. For each problem the author has included at least one solution and often remarks about alternative approaches and the significance of the problem. Many of the solutions are derived from answers given by contestants rather than the organisers as these were often the most elegant solutions. This collection will be of great value to students preparing for the IMO and to all others who are interested in problem solving in mathematics.

Book Visual Group Theory

Download or read book Visual Group Theory written by Nathan Carter and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2021-06-08 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recipient of the Mathematical Association of America's Beckenbach Book Prize in 2012! Group theory is the branch of mathematics that studies symmetry, found in crystals, art, architecture, music and many other contexts, but its beauty is lost on students when it is taught in a technical style that is difficult to understand. Visual Group Theory assumes only a high school mathematics background and covers a typical undergraduate course in group theory from a thoroughly visual perspective. The more than 300 illustrations in Visual Group Theory bring groups, subgroups, homomorphisms, products, and quotients into clear view. Every topic and theorem is accompanied with a visual demonstration of its meaning and import, from the basics of groups and subgroups through advanced structural concepts such as semidirect products and Sylow theory.
