Mais, avant tout et par dessus tout, ce qu'il importe, c'est que les Canadiens aient pour cures ou pour missionnaires des pretres qui sachent bien leur langue, qui comprennent leurs moeurs, qui soient au fait de leurs habi tudes, et qui, loin de contredire leurs aspirations, entrent au contraire volontiers dans le courant d'idees qui leur est propre, favorisant le developpement de leurs institutions particu lieres, toutes les fois qu'elles ne sont pas con traires aux lois du pays.
