Download or read book Inhabiting Memory in Canadian Literature Habiter la m moire dans la litt rature canadienne written by Benjamin Authers and published by University of Alberta. This book was released on 2017-11-30 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the cultural work of space and memory in Canada and Canadian literature, and encourages readers to investigate Canada within its regional, national, and global contexts. It features seven chapters in English and five in French, with a bilingual introduction. The contributors invite us to recognize local intersections that are so easily overlooked, yet are so important. They reveal the unities and fractures in national understanding, telling stories of otherness and marginality and of dislocation and un-belonging. Download or read book Comparing migration the literatures of Canada and Quebec written by Marie J. Carrière and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2008 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. The cultural plurality of literature produced today in Canada and Quebec transforms not only these two literary spaces, but also, their relation to one another. By bringing together methodologies, theoretical approaches and concepts usually reserved to one or the other critical context, this bilingual collection of texts of Comparing Migration (the result of a general call for papers) displays the differences but also the connections between French and English contemporary writing in Canada.

Minority demography deals with an extremely complex subject. Minorities are highly diverse in size and characteristics and the relations of a minority with its respective majority are also varying and controversial. The contributions to this volume analyse various minorities in their cultural and political settings and offer new interpretations of definitions and their impact. The contributors also deal with evolutions: reproduction of sub-populations through demographic behaviours culturally transmitted but altered by politically constructed constraints; demography of integration, mixing and identity changes.
