Pourtant, le marché de masse tarde à se substituer au marché de niche. La RFID pose un problème public : au lieu de réaliser ses promesses, elle apparaît plutôt comme une menace. L'analyse présentée dans cet ouvrage s'appuie sur les travaux de recherche en sociologie de l'innovation, sociologie de l'environnement et du développement durable et sociologie des controverses que les auteurs conduisent sur le terrain de la RFID depuis plusieurs années.

Pour les enseignants, les formateurs et les bibliothécaires-documentalistes, le mémoire constitue l'occasion d'accompagner pas à pas la démarche entreprise, de l'éclairer et, ainsi, de proposer aux étudiants leur professionnalisme pédagogique, celui qui permet d'élever leur réflexion, de libérer leur pensée et de s'exprimer avec toute la rigueur et la sensibilité que requiert l'exercice de leur futur métier d'infirmière ou d'infirmier.
