Book excerpt: Les Représentations Temps-Fréquence (RTF) d'un signal non-stationnaire renseignent sur l'évolution temporelle de son contenu fréquentiel.On peut montrer que le comportement statistique des coefficients temps-fréquence est régi par des lois du chi2 centré et décentré. L'objectif de ce travail est la mise en place d'un processus d'interprétation automatique du signal exploitant le contenu d'une RTF. L'interprétation proposée ici consiste à localiser les structures de la RTF analysée, appelées motifs spectraux, et à caractériser leur contenu énergétique. Il s'agit d'un problème d'estimation des parametres d'un mélange de chi2 et de classification de données. Nous proposons deux approches motivées par l'étude des lois impliquées. La première approche utilise un modèle de mélange global de la RTF. L'estimation des paramètres de lois est réalisée grâce à une version de l'algorithme Expectation-Maximization adaptée aux lois du chi2. La classification s'appuie sur un test de rapport de vraisemblance. Dans la seconde approche, le modèle de mélange décrit localement la RTF. Des caractéristiques statistiques sont extraites sur une cellule parcourant l'ensemble de la RTF. La projection de la RTF dans l'Espace de ces Caractéristiques (EC) permet la discrimination des différentes structures temps-fréquence à l'aide d'un algorithme de type croissance de régions. La caractérisation est ensuite réalisée par application de la méthode des moments sur une régression polynômiale des nuages de points associés aux motifs spectraux dans l'EC. la nature de l'information fournie par chacune des deux approches est analysée. Leur pertinence pour l'interprétation de signaux non-stationnaires est comparée pour des signaux synthétiques ou issus du corpus du laboratoire.
