Book Deceivers False Prophets Among Us

Download or read book Deceivers False Prophets Among Us written by Todd Tomasella and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2008-07 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are there false, fruitless and even deceptive predators in the pulpits of the modern church? If so, are these deceivers leading multitudes to the worship of false gods through their damnable heresies? Are "seeker-friendly" churches creating a new class of "Christians" who have no concept of authentic, Biblical Christianity? Are there leaders who are building their own kingdoms in lieu of God's and doing so on your dime? Are we hearing the full counsel of the LORD from those in leadership, or the psychology and programs of mere men? Are beguiling emissaries in our midst drawing believers away from pure devotion and intimacy with Jesus Christ? Do these things exist within your local fellowship? Are you truly being instructed in the right ways of the LORD? Explore the answers to these and many more questions in this bold, insightful, and resourceful look at the church world today. WHAT YOU WILL GAIN FROM READING THIS BOOK: What specific erroneous teachings are circulating in the church world and how to identify and expose them How to discern the genuine leaders who truly follow the Word and Spirit of God, from the false and fruitless who are using God's money to build their own kingdoms How to please the LORD by positioning and establishing His written revelation as final authority in your personal life How to discern and cease wasting your brief existence on this earth supporting wolves in sheep's clothing How to serve God with a loving and concerned heart from the foundation of divine immutable truth "Todd has addressed the number one issue of today's Christian culture. A subtle enemy has been invading our Christian churches and lulling Christians to sleep. This book is a dynamic tool for the discerning Christian who wants to be an effective servant of the LORD." Book False Prophets and Preachers

Download or read book False Prophets and Preachers written by and published by Penn State Press. This book was released on 2016-04-01 with total page 518 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In February 1534, a radical group of Anabaptists, gripped with apocalyptic fervor, seized the city of Münster and established an idealistic communal government that quickly deteriorated into extreme inequality and theocratic totalitarianism. In response, troops hired by the city's prince-bishop laid siege to the city. Fifteen months later the besieged inhabitants were starving, and, in the dead of the night, five men slipped out. Separated from his fellow escapees, Henry Gresbeck gambled with his life by approaching enemy troops. Taken prisoner, he collaborated with the enemy to devise a plan to recapture Münster, and later recorded the only eyewitness account of the Anabaptist kingdom of Münster. Gresbeck's account, which attempts to explain his role in the bizarre events, disappeared into the archives and was largely ignored for centuries. Before now, Gresbeck's account was only available in a heavily edited German copy adapted from inferior manuscripts. Christopher S. Mackay, who previously produced the only modern translation of the main Latin account of these events, has adhered closely to Gresbeck’s own words to produce the first complete and accurate English translation of this important primary source.

Book How to Handle False Prophets and False Prophecies

Download or read book How to Handle False Prophets and False Prophecies written by Michael Rhoads and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2013-04-04 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers a range of topics, including dream interpretation, what to do if you make a false prophecy, and lists of experiences Michael and his wife have endured overseas (in Israel and Finland). The apostle Paul warned us that in the last days, many would depart from the faith and follow the teachings of hypocritical liars (1 Timothy 4). This book is a compilation of experiences Michael and his wife and family in Messiah Yahshua have experienced in his almost thirteen years of ministry. The Holy Spirit moved Michael to write this book and would sometimes wake him up very early in the morning to work on it. Believers in Jerusalem have been warned by it, and Michaels hope is that you will also. Our prayer is that by them Your servant is warned (Psalm 19). May this admonish and help you in your faith journey!

Book Lies We Believe About God

Download or read book Lies We Believe About God written by Wm. Paul Young and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2017-03-07 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the author of the bestselling novel The Shack and the New York Times bestsellers Cross Roads and Eve comes a compelling, conversational exploration of twenty-eight assumptions about God—assumptions that just might be keeping us from experiencing His unconditional, all-encompassing love. In his wildly popular novels, Wm. Paul Young portrayed the Triune God in ways that challenged our thinking—sometimes upending long-held beliefs, but always centered in the eternal, all-encompassing nature of God’s love. Now, in Wm. Paul Young’s first nonfiction book, he invites us to revisit our assumptions about God—this time using the Bible, theological discussion, and personal anecdotes. Paul encourages us to think through beliefs we’ve presumed to be true and consider whether some might actually be false. Expounding on the compassion fans felt from the “Papa” portrayed in The Shack—now a major film starring Sam Worthington and Octavia Spencer—Paul encourages you to think anew about important issues including sin, religion, hell, politics, identity, creation, human rights, and helping us discover God’s deep and abiding love.

Book Concerning the Prophets

    Book Details:
  • Author : Daniel Epp-Tiessen
  • Publisher : Wipf and Stock Publishers
  • Release : 2012-09-19
  • ISBN : 1610972805
  • Pages : 237 pages

Download or read book Concerning the Prophets written by Daniel Epp-Tiessen and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2012-09-19 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Epp-Tiessen sheds light on the compositional history, structure, and theology of the book of Jeremiah by demonstrating that a large concentric unit of material focusing on true and false prophecy stands at the center of the book. This unit, titled "Concerning the Prophets" (23:9), utilizes the heritage of Jeremiah to contrast the nature of true and false prophecy in order to warn the Second Temple community of the disastrous consequences of false prophecy and to highlight the saving potential of true prophecy. False prophecy leads to doom because it ignores the moral failings of the community, promises well-being in the face of catastrophe, and reinforces the misleading theological certainties of Judah's pre-587 way of life. In contrast, the true prophet Jeremiah challenges the faith community to embrace the physical and spiritual dislocation of the Babylonian destruction. Post-disaster life stands under the saving purposes of YHWH, but the only way forward is to learn the painful lessons of catastrophe and heed the prophetic summons to repent and embrace a Torah-based way of life.
