Book Charting the Supernatural Judgements of Planet Earth

Download or read book Charting the Supernatural Judgements of Planet Earth written by Jerimiah Asher and published by Author House. This book was released on 2010-08-10 with total page 422 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chapter 3 The First Judgment: The World Prior To Adam There may have been many judgments upon the earth since its beginning millions or billions of years ago; however, the present commentary will deal only with the last tens of thousands of years of earth’s existence. In Genesis 1:2, the verses written by Moses (as author of the Genesis account) portray an earth that was veiled in darkness so that its form could not be discerned. The earth at that time was covered with water (ice) high above the mountain tops so that it gave the appearance of being a dark revolving sphere of frozen water (Table-2). God’s spirit is described as hovering over this revolving ball of water and brooding over the sad condition of this dark, void planet. God did not create a dark and dismal planet at the beginning, because God does not create darkness; in fact, darkness is incompatible with His existence and presence. So what had happened that God viewed (Gen. 1:2) such a decrepit state of the world? Does scripture attempt to explain this phenomenon, or does the inspired word of God remain silent on this issue? It was first proposed as a theory by the Scotsman Thomas Chalmers in the early 19th century that a “gap” in time existed between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. This gap-in-time would encompass a “ruin-reconstruction theme” and the existence of pre-Adamic living beings. Obviously, a huge catastrophic event would have had to occur to produce this decadent state of the world. The “gap concept” was later popularized by mention in the margin notes of the Scofield Reference Bible.

Download or read book Lucifer s Flood written by Linda Rios Brook and published by Creation House. This book was released on 2004-01-01 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What happened between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2? In her book, Lucifer's Flood, Linda Rios Brook explores what she believes may be the missing piece--Yahweh's purging heaven of its rebellious inhabitants: The sensation of falling was terrifying... We tumbled out of the realm of the heavenly light into perpetual darkness. We had not seen darkness before. Not like this anyway... From the perspective of a fallen angel, Brook creates a world where angels and demons battle for dominion over the newly created earth. Reminiscent of C.S. Lewis's classic, The Screwtape Letters, Lucifer's Flood's unique style will be relished by a wide range of readers who enjoy fantasy, biblical stories, and mysteries alike. Readers have heard about Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Noah and the flood, but they have probably never considered the origins of the Nephilim of Genesis 6, the story behind the incident with Noah and his sons, or why the birth of Moses made the demons so angry. Part intriguing theological exploration, part swashbuckling supernatural thriller, Lucifer's Flood is a narrative journey from Creation to the birth of Moses. Readers will be intrigued as Brook weaves a tale of what could have occurred behind the scenes of familiar biblical stories, taking them from the glittering reaches of heaven to the murky depths of Lucifer's lair.

Book excerpt: With this book Immanuel Velikovsky first presented the revolutionary results of his 10-year-long interdisciplinary research to the public, founded modern catastrophism - based on eyewitness reports by our ancestors - shook the doctrine of uniformity of geology as well as Darwin's theory of evolution, put our view of the history of our solar system, of the Earth and of humanity on a completely new basis - and caused an uproar that is still going on today. Worlds in Collision - written in a brilliant, easily understandable and entertaining style and full to the brim with precise information - can be considered one of the most important and most challenging books in the history of science. Not without reason was this book found open on Einstein's desk after his death. Download or read book On First Principles written by Origen and published by Ave Maria Press. This book was released on 2013-12-09 with total page 576 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Origen’s On First Principles is a foundational work in the development of Christian thought and doctrine: it is the first attempt in history at a systematic Christian theology. For over a decade it has been out of print with only expensive used copies available; now it is available at an affordable price and in a more accessible format. On First Principles is the most important surviving text written by third-century Church father, Origen. Origen wrote in a time when fundamental doctrines had not yet been fully articulated by the Church, and contributed to the very formation of Christianity. Readers see Origen grappling with the mysteries of salvation and brainstorming how they can be understood. This edition presents G. W. Butterworth’s trusted translation in a new, more readable format, retains the introduction by Henri de Lubac, and includes a new foreword by John C. Cavadini. As St. Gregory of Nazianzus, Doctor of the Church, wrote: “Origen is the stone on which all of us were sharpened.”
