Other people seem to have it all together, to be finding success, to be having more fun. But we weren't meant for a life characterized by dissatisfaction. In this entertaining and relatable book, Alexandra Kuykendall chronicles her nine-month experiment to rekindle her love of her ordinary "actual" life. After wiping her calendar as clean as a mother of four can, Kuykendall focuses on one aspect of her life each month, searching for ways to more fully enjoy her current season. By intentionally adding one thing each month that will make her jump for joy, she provides a practical challenge women can easily replicate. With humor, poignancy, and plenty of personal stories, Kuykendall weaves together spiritual themes and practical application into a holy self-awareness, showing women how a few small changes in their routines can improve their enjoyment of this crazy-busy life. Endorsement "If you ever get the chance to read anything written by Alexandra Kuykendall, take it. She is a gentle, trustworthy storyteller who lives the words she writes about."--Emily P. Book Loving Me First

Book excerpt: I am a Psychotherapist by profession. I was sitting in a bunker in Iraq on the day that I was inspired to write this book. We had just come under attack and danger was looming. A gentleman sitting next to me whispered “I should have made up with my wife last night; I want her to know how I feel.” I looked at him and said, “What do you want me to tell her, because I'm getting out of here alive? My goal was to instill hope. Next, I said to him “Now, I need you to move to the other end of the bunker.” We all laughed. At that moment I started jokingly asking other men and women in the bunker, if there was anything they needed me to tell their family members? That was the starting dialog for Loving Me First. These conversations extended beyond the bunkers. Collectively, we engaged in countless conversations about relationships and life experiences during my two year tour in Iraq. Greater than 25 countries were represented during our conversations. Communication, sexual intimacy, and emotional pain were recurring topics identified as either beneficial or detrimental in many relationships. These same three variables are also prominent topics of discussion expressed by adults in the United States. Loving Me First is a gender neutral, unisex book that examines various components of relationship experiences from a global perspective. It discusses a collective summary of cross-cultural relationship experiences, and encapsulates life lessons learned. I was motivated to write this book to ensure that the words and experiences of these and other amazing people were remembered, encapsulated, and discussed from and international perspective. Life is a journey; your route may parallel the evolution of a pearl and you may have endured some irritants. Many people triumph over adversity; however, pain that is not transformed its transmitted internally or externally. Loving Me First includes eight insights for transformational growth and emotional healing. It empowers the reader to move forward in life with hope and happiness. May you live with purpose as you prepare to give and receive unconditional love into your life.

Book Still Right

  • Publisher : Thomas Dunne Books

  • Pages : 336 pages

Download or read book Still Right written by Rick Tyler and published by Thomas Dunne Books. This book was released on 2020-08-18 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A leading political analyst navigates an unfamiliar terrain of what it means to be a conservative in the Trump Era in Still Right. Since 2016, “conservative” has come to mean “supportive of the policies of the Trump Administration": building his "wall," enacting ruinous tariffs and limiting trade, alienating our allies and kowtowing to dictators, spending wildly, and generally doing the very opposite of what conservatism actually calls for. As a result, millions of Americans are struggling to reconcile their lifelong political identities with what their traditional political party now stands for. Rick Tyler, MSNBC's leading conservative analyst, shows they are still the ones in the right by making the case for real conservatism, one grounded in principles of liberty, the history of freedom, and simple reason. He explains why it's necessary to have a global view of the economy—and how that includes immigration. He demonstrates the need for protecting our nation with a strong military as well as protecting the planet itself. He discusses what conservatism really asks when it comes to children, healthcare, taxes and elections. In the end he reclaims conservatism for conservatives—and proves that it's the best way forward for America.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the author of Shields of Strength, “a gift that could radically change every interaction and relationship you have” (Reg Lloyd, Pastor, Praise Church, Beaumont TX). What is the opposite of love? Many would say hate, but studying the Bible reveals that it is actually fear. Fear leads us to make harmful decisions and live unproductive, unhappy, and unfruitful lives. Love is the key to a fruitful life, but love must be more than a feeling. Love must be an action, a choice. Choosing love over fear is the most powerful choice we can make. Kenny Vaughan brings this timeless discussion back to the forefront of our spiritual exploration by teaching us to view life as a fruit-bearing tree. When we feed the roots with love, the tree flourishes, and we enjoy the blessings that grow upon it. If we deprive our roots, however—if we allow fear to cut us off from love—then the whole tree withers and dies. Utilizing both Scripture and anecdotes from modern life, The Right Fight teaches us how to tend our roots, grow our fruit, and, through the grace of God, cast fear out for good. “The Right Fight will hold your attention and challenge your perspective and application of love.”—Reg Lloyd, Pastor, Praise Church, Beaumont TX
