Download or read book Enterludes written by G. Nadine and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-07-08 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We should talk about love. We should talk about lust. We should talk about sex. We should talk the aftermath. We should talk about the spirit. We can talk. We must talk. Let's converse." Nadine G Enterludes is a collection of poetry that depicts a common human experience. The reader takes a journey through love, misdirection, and finding self while exploring the entities one allows to enter one's life. Chapter one, Love, explores the pitter patter we get in our hearts as children; it explores the fantasies of love and begins to illustrate how these ideals often contradict the realities of love. This section of the book discusses the feelings that love evokes which are often pleasant in nature. However, it also explores the concept of defining love and identifying whether or not one truly knows "real" love. The ideals of love become more convoluted when lust enters the picture. Chapter two, Lust, illustrates the temptation to move from that which is heart-felt to that which is physically felt. Lust is often described as a deadly sin. Yet, it is very alluring and promotes immediate gratification without any thought of consequence. Lust is a powerful thought that often leads to actions. Chapter three, Sex, acknowledges the feelings and emotions evoked when temptation wins and actions are taken. It discusses a thirst quenched and the pleasures that arise from physical connection. It also alludes to the dangers of acting with only the thought of immediate satisfaction without thought of long lasting consequence. Chapter four, The Aftermath, becomes the voice of reason as one has to face the plethora of consequences that surround each decision. IT explores the law of nature every action has a reaction. Taking action of lust can cause consequences that can taint the beauty of love. The dilemma then arises, how does one know whether their actions are based on love or based on lust? Chapter Five, Spirit, allows for the true definition of love to be explored by utilizing the lessons learned throughout the journey. A higher level of consciousness is explored as both positive and negative repercussions are deconstructed. Love begins to be redefined and no longer partialized. Spirit teaches a simple lesson what one allows to enter into the home, will dictate how one lives. It sparks the questions, "What is important to you?" "What will you continue to allow into your life?" "Is it a spirit of love?" "Is it a spirit of lust?" "Is it a spirit of sex?" "Is it a spirit of self?" "Is it a spirit of God?" "What are your Enterludes?" The author, Nadine G., states "penetration is lasting and deep, touching every corner of your soul." The truth the physical affects the body, mind, and spirit. She encourages the reader to converse, embrace your own "Enterludes" as life lessons, and be mindful of all that enters your life. The purpose of the book is to spark dialogue about love, lust, sex, the aftermath, and the spirit. In her words, "let's converse."

Download or read book Another Morocco written by Abdellah Taïa and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2017-03-24 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tales of life in North Africa that flirt with strategies of revelation and concealment, by the first openly gay writer to be published in Morocco. Tangier is a possessed city, haunted by spirits of different faiths. When we have literature in our blood, in our souls, it's impossible not to be visited by them. —from Another Morocco In 2006, Abdellah Taïa returned to his native Morocco to promote the Moroccan release of his second book, Le rouge du tarbouche (The Red of the Fez). During this book tour, he was interviewed by a reporter for the French-Arab journal Tel Quel, who was intrigued by the themes of homosexuality she saw in his writing. Taïa, who had not publically come out and feared the repercussions for himself and his family of doing so in a country where homosexuality continues to be outlawed, nevertheless consented to the interview and subsequent profile, “Homosexuel envers et contre tous” (“Homosexual against All Odds”). This interview made him the first openly gay writer to be published in Morocco. Another Morocco collects short stories from Taïa's first two books, Mon Maroc (My Morocco) and Le rouge du tarbouche, both published before this pivotal moment. In these stories, we see a young writer testing the porousness of boundaries, flirting with strategies of revelation and concealment. These are tales of life in a working-class Moroccan family, of a maturing writer's fraught relationship with language and community, and of the many cities and works that have inspired him. With a reverence for the subaltern—for the strength of women and the disenfranchised—these stories speak of humanity and the construction of the self against forces that would invalidate its very existence. Taïa's work is, necessarily, a political gesture.
Download or read book Vidyasagar written by Brian A. Hatcher and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-08-07 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a new interpretation of the life and legacy of the Indian reformer and intellectual, Ishvarchandra Vidyasagar (1820–91). Drawing upon autobiography, biography, secondary criticism and a range of Vidyasagar’s original writings in Bengali, the book interrogates the role of history, memory and controversy, and emphasises the key challenge of pinning down the identity of an enigmatic and multi-faceted figure. By examining lesser-known works of Vidyasagar (including several pseudonymous and posthumous works) alongside the evidence of his public career, the author calls attention to the colonial transformation of intellectual and social life, the nature of life writing, the limits of standard biographies and the problem of modern Indian identity as such. Based on decades of research and an original perspective, this book will be especially useful to scholars of modern Indian history, biographical studies, comparative literature and those interested in Bengal.
Download or read book A Better Side of Me written by Miss T.L.C and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2017-02-10 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I believe we all have had these thoughts once or twice in our life. Some of us may feel we are cursed and were just left on this earth as someones cruel joke to manipulate and hurt. Im sure that some of us may even be hurting due to circumstances from someone we love and trusted to care for us. Whatever your thoughts and questions are, there is an answer for it. We may not always understand at the time but everything happens for a reason. Timing is everything and remember above all, some are sicker than others. We are not all with healthy thoughts or feelings, some people carry some pretty heavy stuff around with them as they try to get through their daily life. Some of us carry our parents issues as well as our own. This allows us to be bullied and picked on. Some of us are desperate; some of us are just confused on what we should do. No matter what we say out loud or the actions we take the mistakes we make or carry for another, will ever be hidden. We show all our feelings in our actions as well as expressions. We should never allow our self to feel like we dont belong we dont fit in or we are not loved. This is our brain giving us false information because of a feeling or thought and sights we are producing. This my friends is an unhealthy STATE OF MIND. Having this will lead us to destruction lead us to believing anything about us. We are no good we dont deserve love we are no good to anyone. I hate me I hate my life no one cares no one will miss me. What difference will it make if Im here or not?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Can you remember a time in your life when Jesus became real to you? Jesus has always been a big part of my life. Jesus became real to me the afternoon of May 5, 2016. My decision to take a late afternoon motorcycle ride that day changed my life and began my journey to discovering God's mercy and grace. It's in times of brokenness and survival that we see how fragile life really is. Valleys and mountaintops are all part of this thing we call life. It is sad that it takes times of brokenness and loss for us to become teachable and dependent on God. Real life is found at the end of yourself and the beginning of openness to God. The pages within this book are my story. It is a story of ups and downs. A rediscovery of who God is and who I am in Christ. It is a story of God showing up each day to teach me about myself and my faith. And it is the story of how he continues to teach me more about myself and my faith as he deepens my dependence on him for the journey I am on. If your life is one of brokenness, this book is for you.
Download or read book Love Is written by Jefferson Bethke and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2022-01-25 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Retitled, repackaged, and including new content, Love Is delivers a compelling message that urges Christians to reject the distorted views of love that have damaged our hearts, minds, and souls and to embrace God’s biblical definition of what love truly is. So many young people enter adulthood with expectations of blissful dating followed by a romantic marriage but then discover they’ve been duped. Because they learned about love and sexuality from faulty sources—social media, their friends, Disney fairy tales, pornography, or even their own rocky past—they have no idea what healthy, lifelong love is supposed to be like. The results are often disastrous, with this generation becoming one of the most relationally sick, sexually addicted, and divorce ridden in history. Looking to God’s design while drawing lessons from their own successes and failures, the Bethkes explode the fictions and falsehoods that have led to broken relationships. One by one, they peel back lies that include: the belief that every person has only one soul mate, that marriage will complete you, and that pornography and hook-ups are harmless. Drawing from Jeff’s “prodigal son” personal history and from Alyssa’s “True Love Waits” experience, the Bethkes blend personal storytelling with biblical teaching to offer readers an inspiring, realistic vision of love, dating, marriage, and sex. Including a new chapter filling readers in on the Bethke’s married relationship today, this updated edition offers a solidly biblical view of romantic love.
Download or read book The Beginning of the End of Racism in America written by Elaine Sharp and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2020-11-09 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Beginning of the End of Racism in America: Black and White is a progressive and pragmatic book that is the antidote to the disease of ignorance and poison of racism. It reflects intimately the causes of these maladies, the results of these maladies, and what must be done in order to completely do away with these maladies. There is no doubt in our mind that, if applied appropriately, the knowledge coupled with the principles of The Beginning of the End of Racism in America will have the changing power to influence, impact, and change anyone with the slightest willingness to want to change, especially inner cities youth to stop the violence with a mind-set for change of its effect on all of us. The Beginning of the End of Racism in America: Black and White can be used as a learning/teaching instrument toward redirecting the behavior of our youth to understanding the complicated design of racism and its effects on their attitudes toward all members of our society, most importantly, African-Americans. Hopefully, this book will become an eye-opener for many and an enlightenment for race relations to build upon in our nation by facing and accepting the truth of the matter. It is truly time to live up to our name the United States of America to manifest into the United People of America. Finally, we believe that the truth will make you free. Therefore, if everything remains the same and nothing changes, this book will truly allow everyone who reads it the opportunity to imagine and feel what our nation would look like without racism, black, and white. Certainly, this will make us all free in our mind and spirit, and perhaps begin to connect us in a new way.
