In the Islamic terminology, both terms refer to 'the voluntary night prayer, whose time extends from after 'Isya' (evening) prayer until dawn. ' Qiyamul-lail' is also known as Tahajjud. A widespread misconception is that Tahajjud is a different night prayer than Qiyam. The truth is that there is only one voluntary night prayer known by different names. The excellence of night prayer: Numerous Prophetic narrations and Quranic verses mention the excellence of night prayer and the merit of those who perform it regularly. Allah The Almighty, says (what means): "O you who wraps himself [in clothing], arise [to pray] the night, except for a little - half of it - or subtract from it a little or add to it, and recite the Quran with measured recitation."[Quran 73: 1-4] It is reported that the Messenger of Allah, (peace and blessings be upon him), said: "Allah, Our Lord, descends (in a manner befitting His Majesty) to the nearest heaven to us of this universe during the last third of the night and says: 'Is there anyone to call upon Me so that I shall respond to him (fulfill his prayer). Is there anyone to ask of Me that I may grant his request. Is there anyone to seek My forgiveness so that I shall pardon him (and forgive his sins)'." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Now, would you doubt me if I told you the most important thing you need to do to attain that goal and realize that dream is but merely a few steps within your room and not a sprint on the street? Now, I have just told you the truth and nothing but the whole truth. There are countless doors that require opening with various keys to achieve anything material or spiritual in this world and the next. However, Allah, the Most Merciful Lord of the Universe, has granted us the Master Key that opens the doors to the attainment of all successes, both material and spiritual. And this Master Key is vested in the power of Tahajjud, the Late Night Prayer. Many people do not know this. If you were one of them, now you know. Say "Alhamdu lillah" and take your time to study and understand the use and benefits of this Master Key. Many Muslims as a matter of fact do not observe the Ramadan Taraweeh as recommended in the Sunnah. In this book are clearly illustrated details of the correct ways Taraweeh should be observed to gain maximum benefits therefrom. Most of us do not know that vested in Tahajjud is the key to open the door to that wealth we seek, that lucrative job we need, that beautiful spouse we desire, or that political or other covetous positions we aspire for. The exact Dua you need to invoke Allah with are given in easy transliterations for the benefit of those who cannot read Arabic. The meanings of all the Dua are given as well so you would know what you are saying. The right time to observe Tahajjud is delineated as well as most of the etiquettes you are required to observe before and during the night prayers.
