Book The Complete Works of C H Spurgeon Volume 85

Download or read book The Complete Works of C H Spurgeon Volume 85 written by Spurgeon, Charles H. and published by Delmarva Publications, Inc.. This book was released on 2015-08-15 with total page 1229 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Charles Spurgeon (19 June 1834 – 31 January 1892) is one of the church’s most famous preachers and Christianity’s foremost prolific writers. Called the “Prince of Preachers,” he was one of England's most notable ministers for most of the second half of the nineteenth century, and he still remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations today. His sermons have spread all over the world, and his many printed works have been cherished classics for decades. In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to more than 10 million people, often up to ten times each week. He was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. He was an inexhaustible author of various kinds of works including sermons, commentaries, an autobiography, as well as books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. Spurgeon was known to produce powerful sermons of penetrating thought and divine inspiration, and his oratory and writing skills held his audiences spellbound. Many Christians have discovered Spurgeon's messages to be among the best in Christian literature. Edward Walford wrote in Old and New London: Volume 6 (1878) quoting an article from the Times regarding one of Spurgeon’s meetings at Surrey: “Fancy a congregation consisting of 10,000 souls, streaming into the hall, mounting the galleries, humming, buzzing, and swarming—a mighty hive of bees—eager to secure at first the best places, and, at last, any place at all. After waiting more than half an hour—for if you wish to have a seat you must be there at least that space of time in advance—Mr. Spurgeon ascended his tribune. To the hum, and rush, and trampling of men, succeeded a low, concentrated thrill and murmur of devotion, which seemed to run at once, like an electric current, through the breast of every one present, and by this magnetic chain the preacher held us fast bound for about two hours. It is not my purpose to give a summary of his discourse. It is enough to say of his voice, that its power and volume are sufficient to reach everyone in that vast assembly; of his language, that it is neither high-flown nor homely; of his style, that it is at times familiar, at times declamatory, but always happy, and often eloquent; of his doctrine, that neither the 'Calvinist' nor the 'Baptist' appears in the forefront of the battle which is waged by Mr. Spurgeon with relentless animosity, and with Gospel weapons, against irreligion, cant, hypocrisy, pride, and those secret bosom-sins which so easily beset a man in daily life; and to sum up all in a word, it is enough to say of the man himself, that he impresses you with a perfect conviction of his sincerity.” More than a hundred years after his death, Charles Spurgeon’s legacy continues to effectively inspire the church around the world. For this reason, Delmarva Publications has chosen to republish the complete works of Charles Spurgeon.

Book Understanding the Universe

Download or read book Understanding the Universe written by Manjunath.R and published by Manjunath.R. This book was released on 2020-03-17 with total page 912 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Scientific Introduction to Subatomic particles, Alien Intelligence, and Human Space Exploration (For the Cosmically Curious): There are many fundamental questions about the universe that have intrigued scientists, philosophers, and ordinary people for centuries. Here are a few of them: What is the universe made of? This is one of the most basic questions about the universe. Scientists have identified a number of different types of matter and energy, including atoms, subatomic particles, dark matter, and dark energy, but there is still much we don't know. How did the universe begin? The origin of the universe is a subject of intense study and debate. The prevailing theory is the Big Bang, which suggests that the universe began as a singularity and has been expanding ever since. What is the ultimate fate of the universe? Will it keep on expanding indefinitely or will it ultimately come to an end? Some theories suggest that the universe may end in a "big rip" or a "big crunch," while others suggest that it will continue to expand indefinitely. What is the nature of space and time? These are fundamental concepts that are still not fully understood. Some theories suggest that space and time are intertwined and that they can be distorted by the presence of matter and energy. Are there other universes beyond our own? Some theories suggest that our universe may be just one of many in a "multiverse." Although this theory is yet hypothetical, it is a fascinating concept that could have significant ramifications for our comprehension of the cosmos. These are just a few of the many fundamental questions about the universe that scientists and philosophers continue to explore. "Understanding the Universe: Quarks, Leptons and the Big Bang" is a comprehensive exploration of the fundamental principles that govern the universe we live in. From the tiniest particles to the grandest structures in the cosmos, this book takes readers on a journey of discovery through the mysteries of modern physics and cosmology. Starting with an introduction to the basic building blocks of matter, the book delves into the strange world of quarks and leptons, exploring their properties and interactions. It then examines the forces that govern the behavior of matter, including the strong and weak nuclear forces, electromagnetism, and gravity. The book also covers the history of the universe, from its origins in the Big Bang to the present day, and discusses the evolution of stars and galaxies. Readers will gain a deep understanding of the structure of the universe, its expansion, and the mysterious dark matter and dark energy that make up the vast majority of its mass. Filled with engaging examples, clear explanations, and fascinating insights, "Understanding the Universe: Quarks, Leptons and the Big Bang" is a must-read for anyone interested in the inner workings of the cosmos. Whether you're a student of physics, a science enthusiast, or simply curious about the universe, this book will provide you with a solid foundation for understanding the world around us.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever had trouble with the idea of "the angry God of the Bible"? Have you ever heard an echo from long ago, whispering in your heart... You are loved...you are Mine...and there is none other like you.? Within the pages of this complex yet beautifully simplistic book you will find answers to many of the questions you have had about life and its meaning and why the key to it all is, and always has been...Love. According to the Bible, God IS Love, and Jesus says that there are only two groups of people walking the planet...the good trees, the wheat, the children born of Love, born of His Father, and the bad trees, the tares, the offspring of darkness and evil. The line of demarcation between these two groups is not intellectual decision but the innate ability to love and receive love, and you will know each group by the fruit that they bear towards their fellow man. Join Milly McDaniel for this decidedly non-religious view of life on the planet in this created dimension of time and space. Come along on the whimsically delightful journey through the Bible to discover things you may never have seen before as you return to your childlike heart. The map of God's plan has been in plain view the whole time but we could not see the forest through the trees, or through the religious haze. The secret keys and hidden treasures of the Kingdom of Heaven have been cleverly tucked away in front of our faces, just waiting for His children of Light to find. Most likely you will be challenged, as it is probably not what you have been taught...or, is it? Jesus said, This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Book excerpt: When I wrote my first book "Something for Your Journey" I was completely focused on sharing all I had learned through the Bible and how it changed my life. All I wanted at the time was for those who were expecting changes in their life through faith to know was that their faith was the key and that God was absolutely with them. No matter what it seemed to look like. It has proven to be a great tool in spiritual growth and I love the feedback I have received from it. "Hear Me Write" is a compilation of moments in time. Moments that made a difference in my life or in the life of another. I have enjoyed looking back while putting this book together. I have also enjoyed the reminder of how very beautiful life can be as we grow and overcome the obstacles in our way. Most importantly I have enjoyed the view from my book of endless possibilities that lie ahead. I am truly proud to present to you my second book of poetry "Hear Me Write".

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Modern Testament (TMT), Book I, Reconciliation is the first book in a series with a purpose of providing tangibility to spirituality and modernity to traditional religion. It is written for those wishing to have a connection with a higher power but without the complexity, inequality, guilt and partial obsolescence of traditional religious doctrines relative to modern times. Herein, the reader is offered a path to understand that the energy in the Universe is the essence of God and that the Universe is God’s being through which God’s essence can be felt and of which all life in the Universe is created. With this understanding, the reader can interpret their individual and unique, physical connection to God. It is because of this energy and individual connection to God that we innately feel the presence of a higher power. This higher power is that of a non-judging and non-gendered God whose offspring and true prophet is the common mother of all species of life hereon: Our planet, Earth. While this God is the same God of whom Abraham, Moses, Jesus Christ, Mohammed and Martin Luther King, Jr were all prophets, TMT advocates that the planet Earth is God’s true prophet through whom we can have a personal connection with God, and relegates all other traditional religious prophets to that of special prophets of the Earth, but not directly of God. TMT also advocates that the Earth spreads the grace of God, which it receives in the form of heat and light from the sun, to all life on Earth both equally and constantly. Thus, humankind is not the only special species in the eyes of the Earth and God. In TMT, readers will learn how to reconcile their emotional selves with the ultimate mother of all of us: our precious planet. This reconciliation can happen with a a plan infused with humility and absent human arrogance or entitlement. Through the lens of humility, the reader can come to understand the value of diversity and the pain of gender and all other inequality that’s intrinsic in traditional religious doctrines. They’ll also be shown that de-emphasizing material wealth and re-emphasizing the wealth of love and the freedom to pursue it, while slowing the growth of the human population, is the path to RECONCILIATION with the Earth and with God.

Book The Adolescent and His Will

Download or read book The Adolescent and His Will written by Caleb Gattegno and published by Educational Solutions. This book was released on 2010-03-03 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "What is there in the life of each of us that requires our full attention at a particular age, that is vital for that age or for coming ages and cannot be postponed?" This is the question Caleb Gattegno poses in his age-specific trilogy The Universe of Babies, Of Boys and Girls, and The Adolescent and His Will. Gattegno views adolescence as the recasting of experience so that the will can express itself more truly in the rest of one's life. He uses the first four chapters to express the importance of the contribution of adolescence to human life, while the details of this contribution, including implications for educators, are spelled out in the final three chapters.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Amen, I Say to You includes homilies for Cycles A, B, and C of the liturgical year, and a homily for each Holy Day of Obligation within the Roman Catholic Church. Each homily consist of three main points with supporting examples and illustrations. These are homilies I have preached, and they have been constructed with attention to verbal presentation. Another homilist easily should be able to substitute or include examples from his or her own pastoral or lived experience within the conceptual structure each homily provides. These homilies are not essays; they include no long, convoluted, hard to understand sentences. I try for simplicity of words and sentences, for concrete language everyone can understand. Feedback from posting some of the homilies on the internet has characterized the homilies as well planned, with ideas placed in a logical and precise order. They have been called simple, personal, and practical; very inspired and insightful; containing deep reflection and authentic Christian faith; and illustrative, applied and down to earth practical.

Our words and choices, often idle, corrupt, and selfishly motivated, serves an idle, corrupt, world, void of Godly understanding. Corruption breeds corruption... God's Holiness and God's Righteousness, given freely by Him to ALL believers, produces balance, and "good fruit" in our lives. It's our choice, blessings, OR curses. These choices shape our thoughts, belief system, daily walk, our character, and, ultimately, our FINAL DESTINY...Heaven or hell!

Book excerpt: A little nod to those of us who are still feeling slightly half-baked: those with struggling families, cracked relationships, and a world that’s showing a little wear around the seams. When God wants to create the remarkable, He chooses to work with the less-than-perfect. Genesis is a book of beginnings. It is deeply concerned with the origins of things—of the universe, of humankind, of relationships, of sin, of civilization, of families, and of one special family created and chosen by God to be the instrument through which He would bless the world. That family is our family, yours and mine. Like all good family stories, it starts with not just a something or somewhere, but a someone. Part memoir, part biblical inspiration story, Broken & Blessed is about how change begins when one person decides to believe God’s promises and how that makes a change in a family, like ripples on water.
