Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Book of First Kings 4:32 says that Solomon wrote 1005 songs. A song is poetry like the Psalms that were sung to bring forth a message from God. God deemed this song important enough to keep it in His manual, the Bible. The Books of First and Second Samuel are the historical books of David, but His love and emotions for God were written in his Psalms. Likewise, the Book of Revelation is a historical book of the bride of Christ, but the Song of Solomon is the love and emotions of Christ and His bride. This book is being published at the same time as Revelation to be companion books with the same overview. God desired a people who would be adopted into His kingdom. Christ would redeem every person who would acknowledge the plan of God to become children of the Most High God. The Bible was inspired by God (2 Tim 3:16). The Book of Song of Solomon shows the love of the Lord Jesus to His bride, the Church, who is called Shulamite. Shulamite in Hebrew is the feminine noun for Solomon. Solomon in Hebrew is shalom meaning peace unto wholeness. This wholeness comes from a relationship with the Lord which is offered to everyone, male or female, Jewish or Gentile (non-Jewish). Do not think of Solomon in this book as the king, for he too is a believer in the Lord, so therefore He too can be the Shulamite. This is not a picture of Solomons love for a woman, but instead the story of how Solomon came to love the Lord and grow spiritually throughout His life. Both Books (Revelation and Song of Solomon) are actually a symbolic picture of the Ancient Jewish Wedding. The bride is the Church, and therefore, seen as female, yet we know that God is identified as being present in both male and female. Therefore, Solomon is writing as a believer growing in his walk with the Lord. Song of Solomon, like all books in the Old Testament, point to Jesus. It cant be about Solomon and his love for a woman; IT HAS TO BE ABOUT JESUS. Therefore, it shows how a believer grows in their relationship with Jesus. The Jewish wedding takes us from the first time we see Jesus in the spirit and are engaged (salvation) to the time we see Jesus face to face in marriage (our resurrection) to the time we return with Christ to rule and reign as His wife (Millennium) to the time we live in the new heaven and earth (eternity). The intention of this book is to experience in the spirit the life of the believer growing in our knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Song of Solomon is a song cycle which sings of the joys of married love. It is realistic, recognizing how every married couple has to contend with the effects of sin on their relationship, and it demonstrates how the difficulties may be resolved when things do go wrong. But the Song also points us upwards to consider and to celebrate the model love relationship--that exemplified by the Lord Jesus Christ in his love for his bride, the church.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Song of Songs, traditionally attributed to Solomon, is a collection of lyrics that celebrate in earthly terms the love of a bridegroom and a bride. Throughout the course of early Christian history, the Song of Songs was widely read as an allegory of the love of Christ both for the church and for its individual members. In reading the Song this way, Christians were following in the steps of Jewish exegetes who saw the Song as celebrating the love of God for Israel. In The Song of Songs, the inaugural volume of The Church's Bible, Richard A. Norris Jr. uses commentaries and sermons from the church's first millennium to illustrate the original Christian understanding of Solomon's beautiful poem. In recent times, the Song of Songs has been more a focus of literary than of religious interest, but Norris's work shows that for early Christians, this text was counted, with the Psalms and the Gospels, among those Scriptures that touched most deeply on the believer's relation to God. All in all, Norris's Song of Songs is a masterful work that aptly acquaints contemporary readers with the church's traditional way of discerning in this text a guide to the character of Christian belief and life. This volume -- and the entire Church's Bible series -- will be welcomed by preachers, teachers, students, and general readers alike.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dear readers! Lord Christ manifested Himself in the form of wisdom in Solomon and inspired and enabled him to produce this marvelous psalm. For this very reason, we need to comprehend the inner spiritual meaning of the song and not attempt understanding it from physical perceptions of lust and desire. So let us attempt at unravelling some of the mysteries of this often misread great book. God made this world and created living spirit. All our souls came from this living spirit. This includes Christians and Gentiles today. Christians are described by the Lord Christ as the daughters of Jerusalem. He described the Gentiles as a fierce woman of war, that is the Babylon. Apart from these two, another type of woman was described. That woman is the dark woman, and her name is said to be Shulamite. After coming into this world as a living spirit, all the souls were described as divided into three distinct women based on their works. In reality, they were all supposed to be united as one woman (church) as a bride of Lord Christ. This song of songs is a conversation between these women and Lord Christ as their beloved. Let us read about the great love that God has for us through this book…

Book excerpt: The blessed Holy Spirit inspired, taught, and guided Job Anbalagan in writing this book during a long period of almost 15 years from 1986 to 2001. The Lord taught him practically out of his own life in interpreting the Song of Songs. Today this book has fallen into your hands not by mere coincidence but by His providence because God has a message for you. As you read and meditate on this book, your personal life may surely undergo a tremendous change, and God will mightily use your ministry in a manner beyond your own imagination. You need a tranquil environment and a lot of patience in comprehending what the Lord wants to convey you through these pages. The Song of Solomon is the most fascinating and comforting book of the Bible meant for the backsliding Church, the Bride of Christ, that is the comfortless, disheartened and desperate disciples of Christ who have been either lost in the wilderness of sinful pleasures or trapped in the snares of the cunning Devil. This book having some special features is shrouded with the secrets of God and reveals in a mysterious way the unfathomable and incomprehensible love of Christ for His bride. The unique feature is that Christ reveals His eternal love individually and personally toward His elect. This wonderful book embodying love, also called as "the love-letter of Jesus to His bride" precedes the prophetic books of the Bible, which mostly bristle with words of judgment against the backsliding children of God. Strangely enough, the Song of Songs has no words of judgment or accusation. The absence of the word "sin" would catch the eye here unlike the other biblical books. Without this unique book, the Holy Bible would truly lack in something spectacular and majestic. This wonderful book of the Bible unfolds the marvelous and unique Personality of Christ Jesus, and the peculiar personality of His bride as viewed by Him. The divine Author devotes more of this book to describe the beauty and the peculiar personality of His bride than about Christ, the Bridegroom. This shows His great concern for His Body, the Church. The Song of Solomon constantly exhorts the backsliding children of God to "rise up and come away" whatever be the present circumstances or the past life. This book unfolds the incomprehensible love of Christ for His elect - the sheltering love which covers the multitude of sins; the sublime love which blinds the holy eye of the Bridegroom to the wretchedness and unworthiness of His beloved; the flaming love which cannot be quenched by "many waters"; the lofty love which cannot be drowned by "the floods", the precious love which cannot be valued in mere monetary terms. This book enriched in its superb poetic contents would mean a great deal to a poet seated in the Darbar (court-room) of the King of Kings and would, if rightly interpreted, prove to be rather unparalleled by any other poetic book of this world, ever written. Oh, hardly had the author touched a string of this heavenly Vina (an Indian stringed musical instrument) as a novice when he heard the sweet voice of His Beloved! Will you please come apart, whatever be the mundane business you are engrossed in, so as to be alone with your Beloved, and play the role of the Shulamite in this divine drama, not as a worldly stage actor, but as a true bride of Christ?

Three books Solomon wrote. The first book 'Proverbs" was written by him out of the God-given wisdom. The second book "Ecclesiastes" was written by him not merely out of his wisdom but out of his experiences of backsliding in that he "loved many strange women" (I King 11.1) and thus found himself landing in the vanity of this world. Solomon, depicting his romantic episode with the Shulamite, a shepherd girl, wrote the third book "Song of Songs" so as to assure the backsliding children of God forgiveness of sins and restoration of soul by His long suffering and abundant mercy. This book having some special features is shrouded with the secrets of God and reveals in a mysterious way the unfathomable and incomprehensible love of Christ for His bride. Book excerpt: Journey into Intimacy: A Study in the Song of Solomon embraces the Bibles most tender depiction of Gods love for His people, revealed in this brief and evocative biblical love poem. In its own way, Christy Hills study responds to the beloveds invitation: Rise up, my love, my fair one, / And come away (Song of Solomon 2:10). The study asks of God, revealed through the biblical text, the same thing the bride asks of her beloved: Let me see your face, / Let me hear your voice; / For your voice is sweet, / And your face is lovely (Song of Solomon 2:14). Making its way through the Song of Solomon, Journey into Intimacy presents the books passages and offers reflections and commentary on them over the course of six parts that correspond with the natural shifts in the biblical book. The authors approach rests upon listening to the Song of Solomon as an allegory that tells the story of the bride of Christ on earth as love lifts her out of fear and oppression and gives her new life with the King. On the other hand, Journey into Intimacy also tells the story of Christ, the bridegroom who seeks and woos His bride, revealing His heart for her. Journey into Intimacy: A Study in the Song of Solomon ventures into the depths of Gods love, where hearts that hunger may find a feast and searching hearts a home.
