Download or read book Love Is Blind Not To Mention Deaf Dumb And Stupid But It Doesn t Have To Be written by Susan Conkey and published by . This book was released on 2005-01-01 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What do I write in these few paragraphs to make you decide to change your life? What can I say to make you believe that I went through some of the same things you've gone through, and it only gets worse? What will it take for you to want to make your life better, happier, safer and less chaotic; not to worry if you and your children are going to be safe from day to day; to know that your life can be normal and that it isn't normal for someone to abuse you physically, mentally or emotionally. It took me a good part of my life to finally figure out what normal is. For about an hour and a half and the price of this book, you can be on your way to some semblance of order in your life. You will have an outline of what needs to be done to make your life better than tolerable. Because, I'm here to tell you, you don't want to get to intolerable. If you're in an abusive relationship and you've been in one for a short time or a very, very long time, it's still tolerable. If you haven't gotten out yet, it's still tolerable. If you're still alive, it's tolerable. You don't have to live this way. There is a way out. As you'll read in these pages, I was in two abusive relationships. Both different, both nasty, both partially my fault. The worst thing that happened to me probably isn't as bad as some of the things you've experienced, which is all the more reason to read this book. This book is full of heart-felt advice, hard-learned lessons and with hope, the answers for which you've been looking. Good luck and remember, you are your own best friend.

Book Not Dressed for the Occasion

Download or read book Not Dressed for the Occasion written by Ron Harris and published by Word Alive Press. This book was released on 2018-09-17 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Not Dressed for the Occasion has no specific beginning or end but is a string of observations birthed out of my walk with God. It delves into the deeply personal failures of life and honest confession of sins, as well as explores the wonderful experiences and potential we have in God. Though the book exposes the present world view that contradicts the traditional six thousand years of proven moral lessons, it also deals with the daily experiences that challenge our faith and intimacy with God, the most common thread being God Himself and the incredible revelation we enjoy because of the life, death, and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. In this sense, this book is a unique view of the world from a realist Christian perspective. I have endeavoured to throw light on situations that are sometimes personal, sometimes humorous, sometimes political, and sometimes church-centred, but all from a biblical world view. The question remains: Is there hope for a world gone crazy? “The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out” (John 1:5, MSG).

Book 2200 PROVERBS FOR EASY UNDERSTANDING

Download or read book 2200 PROVERBS FOR EASY UNDERSTANDING written by SAAKE SRINIVASULU and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2019-03-29 with total page 460 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I was inspired by my friend’s advice to write this book. When I decided to write about proverbs, I drew them from a broad range of sources like The Bible, famous authors, great personalities around the world, advertisements, diaries, etc. Proverbs represent our ancient tradition and culture for better understanding. I am interpreting and explaining the existing proverbs, which are mostly advisory for maintaining morals of the younger generation and easily adoptable in day-to-day life. My experiences are depicted in them for better clarity. I tried to write in a language as easy as possible, which does not require any reference to a dictionary of any kind. They deserved to be quoted in public speeches to inculcate moral values. Particularly, attention has been paid to impress upon the reader for easy understanding in a given context.

Book I Changed My Mind

Download or read book I Changed My Mind written by Tracie Crawford and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2012-06-12 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tracie has been writing all of her lifepoems, short stories, and inspirational verse. Although blessed with this gift, she felt something was missing. Should there be more? Somewhere around 1992 she had an eye opening chit-chat in the ladies room at church with a friend. She discovered her friend had overcome some pretty big stumbling blocks in her own life and now had an amazing grace filled testimony! Tracie admired her friends courage and grit and wished that she too had her own dramatic story; one that would inspire others. You know that old saying, Be careful what you ask for? Well, ask and you shall receive! Tracie got more drama than she had bargained for when she fell for a man who proceeded to turn her life upside down and inside out. She endured years of degradation, humiliation, and manipulation. She had been verbally accosted, emotionally drained, and mentally abused, but no more! She found her strength and remembered her gift. Changing her mind hadnt changed her purpose, so after regaining her life, she put it into words.

Download or read book A Man Without Words written by Susan Schaller and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2014-05-15 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For more than a quarter of a century, Ildefonso, a Mexican Indian, lived in total isolation, set apart from the rest of the world. He wasn't a political prisoner or a social recluse, he was simply born deaf and had never been taught even the most basic language. Susan Schaller, then a twenty-four-year-old graduate student, encountered him in a class for the deaf where she had been sent as an interpreter and where he sat isolated, since he knew no sign language. She found him obviously intelligent and sharply observant but unable to communicate, and she felt compelled to bring him to a comprehension of words. The book vividly conveys the challenge, the frustrations, and the exhilaration of opening the mind of a congenitally deaf person to the concept of language. This second edition includes a new chapter and afterword.

Book Imperfukt

Download or read book Imperfukt written by Heidi Patullo and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2016-07-16 with total page 377 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When young, author Heidi Patullo bought into the labels donned on her: smart, pretty, talented and Miss Perfect, and for several years her choices, both academic and personal, reflected a fierce dedication to this identity. Superficially, it worked. And yet, even as a young adult, Patullo knew it was for show...merely a veneer of perfection and excellence and certainly not her chosen identity. A born pleaser, she dismayed over disappointing those whom she felt counted on her being the woman they believed her to be. And so she maintained the many acts, downplaying and silencing her own personal need to become the truest version of herself. Ultimately, however, when she found the courage to make the heart wrenching choice to split up her perfect young family, she sent a message, loudly and clearly, that all was not as it appeared. Or, certainly, not in her personal world. But shed only just begun. To act out. And to grow up. This middle-aged mother and teacher would need several years to get it right. Nevertheless, she was determined to become the genuine--and genuinely happy--woman she longed to be. Anyone and everyone could see she was imperfect. She handed that to them.
