Todo este panorama de confrontacion, que en la portada se escenifica con un pulso infinito entre los dos personajes mencionados, cambia con la aparicion en pleno siglo XX de la figura de John Maynard Keynes, que tomando lo mejor de los dos sistemas, crea la tercera via y configura el Estado del Bienestar. Sobre este postulado intermedio se asientan los pilares economicos de nuestra sociedad actual y este es el motivo de que en la portada Keynes aparece como mediador y conciliador entre ambos extremos. Pueden los grandes maestros del hecho economico, con sus antiguos escritos, ayudarnos a comprender las claves del mundo actual?. Las crisis economicas son recurrentes en el tiempo y por lo tanto predecibles y evitables?. La Historia de La Economia va ligada intimamente a la Historia y a la Politica o son conceptos independientes?. Es la Historia un buen camino de recorrer para conocer lo que puede acontecer en el futuro?.
